has any one heard of an hpi blub????

i just got an hps setup second hand, and the guy thru me in an hpi 400w bulb for free is this any good for growing??? it gives off an very bright white light

It's a 400w MH Phillips bulb, good for veggin'.

ya thats what throught but on the side of it i cleary says 400w hpi have i got it wrong?

hpi is whitish/blue whitch is best for veggin
hps is reddish/orange wich is best for flowering.
