Harvet time?

I'm 3 weeks into flowering my beautiful baby girl Pitbull and she's lookin' good! White hairs everywhere's and 'lil nugs aplenty. What is a good indicator of harvest time? I'm guesstimating about 3-4 more weeks at least but are there visual signs that she's reached peak maturity?

It's kind of hard to explain but once you've gotten through your grow successfully you will know what to look for next time. The calyxes/buds will start to swell and you will see the pistils get wavy and turn a light amber color. You should also invest in a jeweler's loupe or magnifying device 60x or 100x to be able to examine the trichomes. Once you notice that the trichomes are for the most part cloudy, the less clear the better. If you wait until the majority of them have turned amber, you have waited too long. The trichomes continue to mature slightly as they are drying and curing so take that into effect too. There's lots of threads on this forum about Harvesting and Curing so have a look... good luck!

Hairs will change from white to tan, brown, red, orange, or pink/purple depending on the strain. The hairs will also start getting shorter and recede into the bud. You are going to have to buy a pocket magnifying glass for 5 bucks at radio shack or walmart if you really want to know when the right time to harvest is. Get a good look at the resin glands

For indica dominate strains, you are looking at about 8-9 weeks of flowering. Sativa dominate could be 9-11 weeks.

A big indicator that harvest is a couple of weeks away is your buds will explode in size, double to triple in size.

3 weeks into flower... you got another 4 or 5 weeks atleast, depending on strain

I also think you need to invest in a magnifier. I got one that goes from 20x-100x and it cost about $17.

without a magnifier, wait until the majority of the pistils turn colour.

hey man..trichs will go from clear to cloudy and then amber when theyre dying off. wait until all are cloudly, and just when they start going amber pull her.

before pulling her, flush 2-3 times before harvest

Thx! @ the info. on the tricho.'s! Will keep my peepers peeled. Flush? I'm assuming that means to give nothing but distilled water to her, right? Not actually water till it's clear run-off like a root flush?

Do not listen to the flush? Read and form your own opinion. I disagree but will not turn this into a flush thread so pm and can elaborate.

depends what kind of nutes you're using.

in the last couple weeks i give just water and then before harvest i flush heavy, let soil dry out then cut her down

helps get excess food out of plant for better taste

STOP : STOP : STOP

Please stop posting as if you have hundreds of grows under your belt! Your 'matter of fact' presentation is highly missleading... which in turn miss leads those who do not know just what your experience is... stop talking like you have grown for ever, cause you have not even one successful grow under your belt.

How bout this. Why don't you reply and give your general opinion and explain that you are only going off of what you have read and then advice the OP and others who read your post to GET A SECOND OPINION....

Please for the sake of growers through out the planet!!!

Ok, last time I rant about this... but you are going to get 'B - meated' every time you post shit that you know only through reading, and your logical understanding of that reading, which produces bad advice!!
good day and happy grows!

Sorry OP, But I would like to direct you to two threads that helped me tremendously through my first harvest. First is Trichomes: https://www.rollitup.org/harvesting-curing/516184-trichomes-harvesting.html

Second is more for the 'cure' side of your harvest: https://www.rollitup.org/harvesting-curing/514841-perfect-cure-every-time.html

Both threads have great knowledge and I would listen to k0jin and SimonD on this matter as they both are good growers!!!!

i was just reading one of your posts where you where asking a basic question in your journal where your growing with a super basic setup, nothing wrong with that but now im reading here that your giving out advice and your coming off like your a heavy? plus how the hell did u get 1400 posts in 2 months?
you shouldnt be giving people advice, you dont have any experience at all. verbal tips are cool but your giving people an impression that your someone that your not.

Use a magnifying glass and look at the resin glands. Thats the only true way to tell if shes ready!

Thx! I've got a magnifying glass and a neumismatist loupe to get a better look. I am impressed, as well as those select few who have witnessed her, at the size and quantity of "sugar" all over her. PIC_0010.jpgPIC_0012 (2).jpgPIC_0013.jpgPIC_0014.jpg

Flushing is a personal preference, not like lights or watering.

STOP.
Just STOP.
You and your one plant you finally finished and trying to tell you do this and that.
You're getting the thread fucking sidetracked again, just like every other thread you pop up in.
You give advice on drying and curing, but when it comes your turn, have a thread going begging for help.
You give advice on clones, then cry you yanked yours out of the soil to see if it had roots yet.
Just fucking STOP.
We don't need any more plants looking like yours here.

First off for the record all you guys bitching at Bmeat are also getting completely off topic, and do every time you bitch at bmeat in other threads......just saying.

Now on topic to the OP, your plant(s) looking really nice getting some nice sugar on her. I would agree with most here that you need another 4-5 weeks most likely, and that checking the trichomes is the best way to see where she is at. Some people say that plants don't finish in under 8-9 weeks, I've got a pheno thats always done in 7, I've left it out till 10 weeks before and it made no difference in yield and not even a noticeable difference in quality. So I would suggest you start checking between week 6-7 to see what the trichs look like. I may likely take 8 to maybe even 10 weeks all depending on the genetics. From what it looks like I would not expect it to go longer then that. The only other thing I wanna add is something I'm kinda big on. I do not believe in counting flower time until the plant is forming flowers, or pushing out its pistols to start. I think this can make a huge difference in perceived versus actual flower time. How fast a plant begins to flower will be different depending on strain and phenotype, and so if you start counting when you switch your lights, your not getting a true idea of how long the plant is actually flowering.
