I have been doing alot of research online about trichomes.reading just now I seen that people harvest when most trichomes have changed to milky for a heavy indica strain or some amber some milky for a sativa strain.now looking at one of my plants she's coverd in white milky trichomes shes indica dominant but the buds ain't that big can I keep going? Or does she have to come down now I don't want to harvest when she hasn't had her final pump which normally happens last few weeks she's on week 7 now breeder dates 8 weeks but I've seen most grows go 9

its simple one don't ever grow on a time table every plant will very from environment to environment ... what finished in my room in 7 can be 8 in yours.. next get a 20-100x scope.. and scope the trichromes in the dark (never with lights on the heads can look amber due to lighting) ANYWHERE you place the scope you should immediately see 20% amber/brown heads .. the rest of the heads will look like they were filled with semen... if they are glassy and clear looking they aren't ready.. you want 20% amber the rest semen white..

make sure your not looking for the amber ones you should see 20% amber anywhere you place the microscope.

no the light from the scope is led but your not going to be in there long enough and its not bright enough to effect the plants. just go into the flower room 10 mins before the lights kick on you'll be fine.

the point i said about the light being led doesnt mean anything meant to say its a fairy dim led.. but the other point is just go into the room 10 mins before lights come on and check them if your worried about it effecting the plants.. but it won't just don't do it every day 2 x a day or something silly like that

ive heard of people leaving their plant in the darkness for 3 days before chop, i've never tried it but it's suppose to pump out more thc cause the plant panics when it's not getting light. plus invest in one of those things phil k has. there great, got mine off ebay for £3 plus postage and it does the job very well. just expect to end-up looking at all sorts of things around your house lol

yep perfect timing generally you'll see a few some heads will be glassy still some will be semen a few will be amber.. there should (generally it can very) Be a SLIGHTLY lighter green hue to your fans .. eventually they will yellow or start yellowing heavier around 20%amber.

yeah your probably getting close then id get the scope and start checking the trichomes every two to three days.. ... it won't make a massive enough change in 24 hours so don't waste time checking it every day .. but if your fans are starting to lightly yellow and just the fans your probably 1-2 weeks out like you said.

is this going to be the first harvest for you? if so I'm sure your fucking GEEKED!
I'm only asking that to make sure you have curing down.. it will fuck up all your work if the cures done improperly or rushed.

Alot has to do with the strain and its genetics. Shit ive had indica's that over-ripened (3 weeks after flower time)with 3% red trichomes and 90% cloudy. Talk about an accidental couch fuck lock.

No one will really be able to definitely tell you if these are ready or not without pics man.
I tend to take them when 60% trichs are amber and 40% cloudy. :leaf:
