Harvesting pollen

My bag seed of Orange Romulawai turned out to be a male.:|
Since I'd like to keep it's genetics, I want to try and make some seeds with a spare All Gas OG that my friend never picked up.
How long does a male need to mature to collect some pollen and what would be the best and safest way to collect it without getting my other plants impregnated?
Thanks in advance for the help.

Another method.
Indoors, isolate male in different room from the ladies.
Bend plant over a glass plate or something to catch falling pollen such as tinfoil sheet, dinner plate etc.
Flowers and pollen fall onto glass plate.
Separate pollen from flowers, discard the flowers.
Put pollen in container. I add dry rice as a desiccant.
Store in fridge for short term or freeze it for long term.

Glass plate under plant.

Separate pollen from flowers. - I use a blade to scrape up pollen into a pile.

Put pollen into container with a bit of dried out rice. Put lid on.

Then into a second container with more desiccant.

Or store in a plastic Ziploc bag.

Drying is critical if you need it to be viable for longer than a few weeks.

Think I might of chopped him to soon. I got scared when you said they can start throwing pollen within a week.
Cut of the top of a couple branches that had balls forming and dried them out. When I tried to get some pollen out with a razorblade wasn't much going on inside them. Going to try and rub a little of what I have on one of my ladies.
How far along in flowering is the best time to do this?

You can put a male branch in a small vase with plain water and it’ll open up and drop pollen.

Isolate the plant and lean it over a plate or cut the tops and put them in water over something. It's pretty simple. The biggest thing to worry about is spreading the pollen around so close any vents in the room if you have central air and don't wear the same clothes around the females after working with the male when it's dropping pollen.

It's at the local dump

I fkd up and chopped the whole plant after I cut the tops. For now I only do outdoor grows and the male was in the ground, so I couldn't move it.
Should of asked more questions, I think doing as you both suggested would of worked. Live and learn.

Live and learn.
I planted my first seed over 50 years ago, and I'm still learning something new almost every day. Learn from your mistakes... this plant will tell you what it needs, you just have to learn to listen to what it's saying. Try not to freak out and over react. Unfortunately, it takes a lot of fuckups before you can communicate with it and understand what it's trying to communicate.

That will come with time and experience, don't give up, it's worth it!!!!

Exactly.
I've realized that every little thing doesn't have to be a crisis, and that every plant is different. I still hopefully got lots of grows and time to learn.

Successfully collected some pollen from the Copa Genetics Project 25 dude. Will get some more tomorrow then will store in plastic container with a bit of rice while the same strain's lady-in-waiting stacks on a little more. Pretty stoked!

Chopped Project 25 momma yesterday and so far have popped out 64 little bundles of joy. I still have probably 2/3 of momma to go through but I think that this will be much easier once she's fully dried. I wanted to get a sample size for an estimate and got impatient. My fingers were glued together like never before LOL.

Pollenated mom around August 20 when she was in week 3 of flower. Chopped Oct 1. So six weeks.
Gotcha ,was wondering how long to go .I have made some fem seeds outdoors .It takes a bit for the flowers to become viable I just tapped it to the lower limbs around it .So it was mid September .Early November it is then. Thanks
