Harvesting and Drying Shrooms

OK, so I had the huge shroom break off the the cake and I have it drying in front of a fan. Here it after drying for a few days:

Here is a shot of my tub:

As you can see, that cake on the left has gone nuts.

Even the B+ cakes are going strong now that I am misting them every day:

So, since this is my first time, I'd like opinions on when to harvest and the best way to dry.
This has been really fun and I am psyched that I can actually do it, LOL, but I don't want to mess it up in the end...

Harvest right when the mushroom cap opens up and take a spore print. U can dry it by just laying it out, or fan it, or in a dehydrator. I used a slow cooker on low with the crock pot removed and a wire strainer in it to hold the mushrooms.

Nice work man!!! As already said, harvest just before or as the veil starts to break. Unless you want to make a print, for that harvest after veil has completely broken and cap has flattened out.

From what I can see, your fc doesn't have any holes for fae.. how often are you opening the tub a day?

OK, how about storage techniques? I will want to keep most of these until next August (Lockn!) I've read the pros and cons of freezer storage, silica gel, baggies vs. tupperware, etc. Any suggestions for a 10 month storage solution. Midwest has some jars called "Hygrolid Mushroom Storage System" that look cool, but maybe I can make something cheaper?

As c1 states above, just don't let them get damp. Even light and beat won't measurably decrease.potency for a while. Keep them in a Mason jar in the freezer and you will be fine for at least a couple years.

Thank you. I hear conflicting opinions about putting them in a freezer. Also, should I use a packet of silica jel?

Curious newcomer here with a questions about 1. Are there big differences in the experience of shrooms between varieties? And, if so, where can I go to learn about the differences. and 2. What is considered a dose for a beginner? This may well depend a lot on the variety and growing conditions, but an estimate will do.

Beautiful garden, Tstat!

So you want us to use the internet for you?

All cubes are the same, pans are stronger. 3 grams first dose. Google knows all
