Harvesting after 96 hrs of darkness

Hi All. Just joined. Glad to be here.
Just wanted to share my latest.
Background info first:
- Outdoor grow in 3gal pot.
- 12wk veg, 7wk (12/12) flower
- Germinated seeds from "accidental" pollination of female Strawberry Cough by male OG Kush

Trying "darkness" for the first time prior to pulling.
Pic 1 is at start of 6th week right after flushing.
Start of 7th week, one final watering.
Middle of 7th week, put into shed.
Pic 2 is end of 7th week, after 96 hours of darkness, going to pull.

I know she looks like crap with all the dead leaves but she smells awesome and the buds look great.
Some observations:
- All the fan leaves and tri-leaves have withered. The ones that haven't died are brown and easy to spot for trimming.
- When I opened the shed door, the smell was really good and really strong.
- The sugar leaves are curling upwards. The ones with really curly tips do not have as much trichome coverage. This might be a good way to mark where to trim the sugar leaves. I understand most people trim the leaves to be flush with
the bud but I'll probably keep most of these.

Now it's time to hang, bag, and jar. I'll let you know how they turn out in a few weeks.

Peace.

if you grew this outdoors, you cant just flower it for 7 weeks because thats what the breeder recommended....outdoors harvests around late september to october...and that varies with strain

your stuff looks immature..where are the buds

Hi. Thanks for the reply.
I went off the trichomes. I would say over 80% of them were milky at 5-1/2 weeks on the calyxs, more on the
sugar leaves, and with some sprinkling amber trics.

I have another one that is 4 weeks younger. I'll let that one go longer.
Appreciate it.

yup, should have gone longer. that bud should be a nice and thick tight nug. Still looks abit airy. But it still looks nice :)

Stop doing the 3+ days of darkness at harvest, it does nothing positive. You are better off just giving them the full 12 hours of light a day the last 3-4 days instead of darkness.

I cannot seem to see the bud through the trees.

Just wondering why do people end with so much darkness? Looking for scientific answers not opinions.

72 hrs of darkness really works. Also for some strains with alot of vigor i think they would benefit from even longer time in darkness like a week.

many growers including myself and others on here believe that atleast 24 hour of darkness makes buds more resinous.
for scienticific facts u will have to try for your self.
