Harvest time?

But agree on FF TRIO …. Way too much under most use . There are better lines to use ….

Megacrop / GH Maxibloom ( can run this alone thru entire grow ) , Dr. Earth / Jacks / etc.
ive heard advanced nutrient line and canna lines are also really good. The trio hasn't done me wrong yet so they are still a good brand to use in my opinion.

I don't go by ppm or ec, I've used my nutes enough the schedule I use works perfect
Ppm is so subjective in my opinion

And

Selling to a dispensary usually takes a license and lots of $$$$$$
why do you think ppm is subjective? how long have you been growing for? have you had any grows that failed?

What about becoming a dispensary? or would be selling on the black market easier?

I have noticed that some articles are very similar to one another. Are bud spacing and defoliation also bro science and not needed?
I'm not a fan of defoliation myself. I've never used that technique but others do and seem to grow some good bud. I just let the plants grow. The end result is always good. Sometimes I will cut off bottom branches and I recently cleaned up a Thai leaning sativa that was growing like a mass of brambles. All these wispy branches all throughout. Normally I just let things grow and flower small plants so I don't usually run into issues from having too many leaves growing indoors. Outdoors I think defoliation is completely unnecessary and detrimental to the potential the plant could achieve.

Many that defoliate often employ training techniques that take a long time which I'm also not a fan of. But each is free to grow how they want. I prefer to flower small plants and have more harvests faster. Some like to spend a long time training for one big plant and a big yield. I like variety and grow different strains from seed every grow. Others grow the same strain from clone.

It's not a matter if it's needed or not. Because it isn't needed. Some growers employ that technique because that's how they grow. I'm not a fan and disagree with any perceived benefit they may think that they're getting but if that's what they want to do then that's their choice.

I don't know what you are referring to when you say bud spacing.

As far as broscience goes the biggest myth out there is that cannabis is some special plant, has special requirements other plants don't have, and you need all this cannabis specific stuff. It's true that you can optimize things for the best results but you can do that with most plants and is not anything that requires all these products and techniques you see. I have more trouble growing Pepper plants than I do with cannabis.

Ppm tells you nothing about your NPK ratio, just what's in your water

I do monitor ppm when I run DWC to see if they are eating or not

Ppm monitoring has nothing to do with a grow failing or not. I've grown off and on longer than you've been alive...lol

This is my first grow so I vegged both of my plants for 6 weeks and I LST'd from at the end of the seedling stage up until the 3rd week of flower. I also defoliated 3 times and lolipopped as well. I mostly defoliate to promote proper air flow and light penetration so I do not have to deal with Powdery Mildew or mold in general. Have you ever had any issues with any kind of mold? do you grow indoors or outdoors? I also like variety of both indica and sativa strains. I use indica for sleeping and sativa for gaming haha!

I have read that if you give the buds ample space between each other that they will grow fatter and more dense. Like i said i do not know how true this is.

I wasn't asking about the failures due to incorrect ppm or ph. I was just asking in general. curious as to how or why a grow has failed if that has happened to you.
but doesn't ppm in runoff tell you if the plants are absorbing the nutrients? if not then how do you know if they are eating? I guess by seeing how the plant reacts and to look for deficiencies?

Runnoff means nothing

Pour over a salt pocket...way high ppm
Miss it low ppm

In hydro it's different since it's a rezz/water with nutes

I wish the trio would have worked for me, it seems very straight forward. I do like the FF soils though and have had no real issues to speak of there, yet. Organic seems to be more my speed.

interesting. so how would you accurately tell if the plant is eating the nutrients you are giving it if growing in soil and using synthetic nutrients?

the way i used the trio is basically i started at the lowest dose and slow increased it bit by bit until i saw any issues. then i backed off and kept it at that level. I'm thinking about going full organic. sythetic nutes are too easy to overfeed your plants
