Harvest Question...

I have 4 plants 5 weeks old. I picked up a scope and have been checking out the... well i forgot what they are called... the crystals on the leaves... you guys know what im talking about.

But..

I'm having a hell of a time figuring out if they are changing color or not... I don't have a good base I guess. Is there any good pictures anyone has or a good tip they can clue me in on.

Some are more mature then others. I can tell just by the size of buds on some plants vs other ones. I just dont want to harvest at a wrong time.

sounds like your scope doesn't have the power in magnification to to the job, you also need a lot light to see well, white light, i use for this my surefire with 65lum burner so it won't get too much light and heat. cheap surefires are like 40 bucks, spin offs go for less... but first i would invest in some scope that does 20+ in magnification

My scope goes up to 100x

My light is a 5000k light.

The stigmas, as well as their color, can be seen easily with the naked eye. The
trichomes can be seen with the naked eye too, but you can’t see the color change
without magnification. The trichomes, with the naked eye, look like crystals of
sugar on the bud and surrounding leaves.
You can see in this picture that the hairs are about 50% red, but the trichomes
appear totally clear. With magnification you can see that many of the trichomes
are starting to turn amber on the caps and some have the amber streaking down
the stalk. Again, to see the trichome color you need magnification, and can’t be
viewed in this picture.

Ok, thanks for the pics, those help a ton. I took a leave I cut off and took it outside just to make sure my light was 100% Natural. My buddy and I looked and decided they were mostly still clear. We could see a few amber ones but most were still clear. Probably a nother week or 2.

well then your scope is nice but 5000K is just about temp of light and not power and surefires been designed to shortly blind your encounter to give you a second more to think if you have to shot him so they put out a good amount of light, sometimes even to much
