Harvest question

Hey Everyone!

Here's a general question for which I would love some opinions...

I have two plants I put into flowering a little over a week ago. One was 5.5 weeks old, one 4.5 weeks old, and I went to 12/12 because of space issues, not because I'm impatient! LOL And there was a week difference because one early seedling had died and I popped another seed to make the most of my two-bubblepot grow set up.

The 5.5-week-old one (Plant 1) started showing female immediately. Plant 2 hasn't shown yet at all, so I'm thinking it's a slower female because she was younger.

So in 8 or 9 weeks, what can I expect? It seems logical that Plant 1 would be ready to harvest a week or so before Plant 2. Am I correct, or can one plant "catch up" to another even if there's a week's difference in maturity at the beginning of flowering?

And if they are, in fact, ready a week or 10 days apart, then I'll have to chop Plant 1 and put her someplace while Plant 2 finishes. I had envisioned they would finish together and then I'd turn the grow tent into a drying tent.

What would be some good drying options for Plant 1? My bathtub, and I shower at the gym for a week? A large acid-free garment box? I don't have any closets or spare rooms in my apartment.

Thanks for your advice! I'd figure I'd ask now in case I have to make some kind of purchase to accommodate this...

Hi krypton girl, if you want you could still dry the first plant for 48 hours in the tent then move them buds to paper bags to slow dry in the dark till they are ready for the jars. Paper bags can go into a tote for slow drying, just check on them. As far as finishing hopefully it will work out. I'm reminded of a friend that always says to me, the world ain't perfect.

Thanks, Zmon -- I was concerned that continued exposure to the 400W light on 12/12 after cutting would degrade THC, but it sounds like you're saying for the first 48 hours it wouldn't matter much. I like the paper bag idea...

Your rt about the exposure to the 400 also RH needs to be higher probly than in your tent.Other wise Buds will dry out way to fast.

Look into harvesting and curing thread, for a better way,I just hang my branches in a dark closet.

i use my budroom to dry my flowers, just put them out of direct light. for example i have strings hanging above the height my hoods hang, so drying buds are above the lights. this works great for me.
