Hardship cultivation application

I'm new on here and have just moved back to Massachusetts. I have my doctors recommendation and want to grow legally. Does anyone on here have a hardship lisence? Or have applied for one. I read that up until January 1st 2014 all you needed to grow was your recommendation but come January 1st you need to have applied to DPH for it. What's the deal, what do I need to do?

You may continue to grow marijuana until the online state registration through DPH is activated, later this spring or summer. They will post updates on the DPH website. We also inform our patients of all changes that occur in the program that affect them.
