Hardroc's LST guide

LST (low stress training) is quite simple to do and can really maximize your yeilds. (some will argue this....)
It won't really give you bigger buds but will give you alot more of them because it openes up the middle of the plant to recieve more light and in turn cause more top shoots to develop, plus keep your plants nice and low (good for height restrictions), and I really like the look of them.
All you're really doing is tying your plant over at a 90 degree angle, to make all the lower shoots turn into top buds.

1st thing you do is tie an anchor tie around the base of the stalk, so you don't uproot your plant.

2nd, you bend the plant over at a 90 degree angle the opposite way you anchored, don't be too rough, or you'll end up snapping your stalk. I find it best to do this when it's close to watering time, the stems are a little more flexible and easyier to bend. I do this when I have about 4-6 nodes.

3rd now you just wait for the shoots to start growing up towards the light. You will notice them starting to work their way up towards the light sometimes in as little as a couple hours.

4th after you've seen some good growth on the new tops, you can spread them around the pot and position them the way you want them to grow, by bending them and tying them where you want to.

You can also top all the shoots a couple weeks before flower to really get alot of top buds, but that's a whole nother thing.

I forgot to mention that, you also have to keep re-tightening the strings every week or so as the plants grow and you can reposition all the shoots to make a nice full and even canopy.
On the 3rd week of flowering it's a good idea to clean up the bottem of your plants (trim away anything that is under the canopy) to get good air flow underneath it, and trim away any smaller tops that are under the canopy, to give more food and space to the bigger ones.

I also cut all the strings away on the 4th week of flowering, as the stalk and shoots are pretty much hardened up and set in their ways, if 1 or 2 start creeping up tie them back down.
