Thanks a ton! I was really hoping you'd chime back into this thread as I don't have the ability to pm on this forum. Long time lurker with few posts.
Funny you mention the marine cuisine because that's what I'm currently using for veg. 1-2 Tbs per gallon of coco.
I was thinking of purchasing the Japanese maple HF to use for flowering.
Do you instead recommended just using the MC to flower?
Also I've been supplementing with Epsom salt so the garden lime is working just fine but ill look more into it thanks!
Ps: I've also been wondering if you usually let these dry ferts "cook" as they call it before planting in your soil mix. If so how long usually? Thanks!

For a granular flowering "fert" has anyone looked into the botanicare pure granular? I had the marine cuisine too but my buddy gave me some of this to try and I like the ingredients better. the marine cuisine hasdoes have some crab shell meal in it which is a +

I've used the botanicare pure granulars in the past, they work pretty good, but i've had better results with the Happy Fog MC.

What's your base soil? I use the HF MC with and Sunshine Mix #4 with added worm casting,coco, perlite, and dolomite. For the HF MC I've been following the instructions on the bag, I have thought about cooking it, but since it has quick release ferts in it I'm afraid to cook it for the fear it might make it a little too hot.
If you're using Lime and Epsom salt you're golden.

The plants i have grown in MC fade really nice in late flower. I thought the same thing about the High (N), the plants really seem to eat it. I've also noticed the plants I've grown using the MC produce massive root balls, I did a side by side with MC in the soil i mentioned above vs. SS, the plants grown in MC had massive roots balls vs. the plants grown in SS, and MC grown plants produced slightly higher yields than the SS.
I must mention, once my plants go into their final container, I scratch in the recommend amounts MC and that's it, pretty much water only with the addition of a few teas here and there.. it works.
If the High (N) is a real concern the HF Tomato Veg might be a better option for you, Use the HF Tomato Veg for vegging your plants and flower them out with the HF Japanese Maple, I've also used the HF Fruit and Flower, and the HF Bulb food....they all work pretty good. Espoma is another line up of dry frets I've had really good luck with. You might want to look into some of the Espoma Products too. I've had great success with Espoma Plant Tone for veg and noting but AACT's during flower.

why aren't there more threads about MC! If your ever bored you should definitely make one.
Honestly it's so simple, cheap, and readily available. A perfect gateway into "organics" if you will. (Obviously the stuff isn't omri being time release)
The Fox Farms Marine Cuisine has done me wonders in veg so far. Only water and they're the healthiest plants I've ever grown.
I prefer the granular stuff to my Dutch master line up. I may throw some in to give a boost if needed but the simplicity of the MC has me hooked.
I would LOVE to read a MC grow log if you by chance made one. Those photos look amazing! Was it only MC and AACTs because that is simply fantastic results!
Also how do you make your AACTs. I've read up on them but haven't attempted one yet.

Right on man!...I'm glad I was able to help you out.
You know, I think you nailed as to why there isn't a lot of grow information related to MC, for the most part.... it's to simple. Just think how many growers seem to over complicate growing an annual. For me keeping it simple has benefited my garden the best, I basically started using this method after reading Soma's book.
I don't really keep a grow journal, but i mainly post in the Hawaii growers thread in the outdoor section, stop by there anytime, a lot of good advice can be found there.
AACT's are super simple to produce, get a 5 gallon bucket, a aquarium pump and a air stone. I pretty much add my amendments to the bucket add a little sucanat (evaporated sugar cane juice) fill the bucket about halfway with water and bubble the contents until i see a nice foam develop.
I'd stay away from using the MC as a tea, some of amendments in the MC are not soluable in water. Also activaing the quick release ferts contained in the MC might cause more harm than good. Focus on amendments that are High in (P) (I like bat guano) and High in (K) (I like dry soluble Sea Kelp or Sea Kelp meal) I also keep some bat guanaos that are high in (N) to fix any nitrogen deficiencies if they happy. You could probably collect the guanos and see kelp collectively for around $20 to $40 and it'll last you a while too. I completely agree though! Everyone thinks cannabis is some sort of super plant that requires all this extra stuff when it really can be as simple as a few tablespoons of goodies here an there, plain water, and some teas.

No teas here, just amending and top dressing.

I wish! Just followed some step by step instructions from RRoG and now pretty much sit and watch the flowers grow.
