Just picked this up to try for an outside grow, Wanted to get the Ocean soil stuff from Fox Farm but this is all they had. Just wandering if this is good stuff or not?

I use it...

Plants seem to love it...

It is pretty dense though... i add 20% perilte... probably should do 30-40% though.

I like it because it is organic forest humus with worm castings...

just saying...:peace:

it works well, a bit too much peat for my liking, thats why i prefer roots, but i've used happy frog once when they were out of roots and the happy frog performed fine, no problems with ph or salt buildup.
You can add either perlite, lava rock, sand to aerate it.
I like sand, but i seem to be in the minority.

I prefer Happy Frog over the Ocean Forest/Light Warrior mix as my base soils. OF/LW caused had caused enough mutations to my plants. Also, I am beginning to notice that perlite ~20% is wasted space in Happy Frog soil and it's not really needed -it dries too fast even in my 5 gallon buckets. And the less peet moss the better.

Happy Frog is good stuff. Ocean forest is a little too hot and I don't know how it will react to using liquid ferts.
