UPDATE:

Week 5.. 12th day in flower (12/12)
37 days from seed

Under a 150 W hps, and side lighting using 2 cfl's and the 3 light AG hood.

Looking very bushy (is that good?) with lots of internodal branching and new tops since I femmed them. I've removed a few lower leaves that were either in the way or dying and tucked in some fan leaves. A couple dying leaves doesn't bother me. The hps gets in deep so I'm getting a lot of light into the lower leaves. I still have a small fan running 12/12. The AG is set on Tomatoes and the 4" air stone runs 24/7.

I drained the res. and flushed it with 1 tsp CLEAREX in 1 gal of tap water for 30 min. it probably was to soon cause the ppm started out at 400 and only settled at 800ppm, but i got rid of 400pm of junque. That would have also flushed out any dead stuff from the 1 tsp h2O2 I dumped in and shouldn't have. (My nutes are organic.)

Added Fox Farm nutes 2 tsp. Tiger Bloom, 1 Tbl Big Bloom and 1/4 tsp OpenSesame. I adjust these to get a ppm of around 1100 (my tap is 300). I'm still not feeding them heavily. Is that okay or should I get my ppm up to 1400 to compenensate for my 300ppm tap water (1400 - 300 =1100 nutes ppm).? I know my 300 ppm tap water is not good. It can lock out mg with all of the calcium in the water.

I flowered at 24 days so I'm hoping for some signs of sex in the next few days so I can make more room.

So, are these too bushy? They are about 8-10" tall.

MY GROW SETTINGS FOR 12th day of FLOWERING:
  1. Lighting - 150 w hps, 2 100w cfl's and the AG 3 light hood all set on 12/12 timers. I use 2.
  2. AG Pro200 - set now on Tomatoes
  3. 4" airstone running 24/7
  4. 6" fan running when lights are on.
  5. Air temp- 68 -78
  6. Humidifier - 35% (disabled it for now)
  7. Water temp - 70 -72 (up some and that's not good. Due to hps light added?)
  8. *Ph - 5.5-5.9
  9. *PPM- 1100-1200 (adjusted for tap water of 300). (I didnt up it) May tap water is 300ppm.
  10. *Organic nutes - All Fox Farm brand organics: 3 tsp -Big Bloom/gal., and 1 tbl Tiger Bloom/gal. and 1/4 tsp Open Sasame.
*I flushed with 1 ox. CLEAREX in Ph'd tap water for 30 min., drained CLEAREX, then added new nutes then Ph'd last.

Is there anything else I should know or be doing or shouldn't be doing. What about my 300ppm tap water???

lol yea they should be fine, IF you think the leaves are blocking too much light, then i would trim a fan leave or two, BUT only if yu think its affecting the amount of bud sites

Okay, thanks. Now I feel better. I hope they show sex soon. I wanna be able to pull males cause I need the space. It's like a hot tube party in there right now for them.

Need some help. I'm unclear on how to use CLEAREX.

I'm using Fox Farm nutes. On the FF site, the feeding schedule recommends flushing your reservoir. I bought some CLEAREX and the directions say 1 tsp/gal and to let it cycle for 15 minutes.

Flushing eleminates salt deposits so that's why i did it.

I have some questions for you folks:

1) Did I do this right? I drained the res and poured in the water & 1 oz. Clearex solution with my plants in it, then let it cycle until my ppm meter stoped climbing, then I drained it and refilled it with the nute soup of the week.... That right or what???...Fingers xx'd

2) Do any of you do this to prevent salt buildup in the AG or do you just flush at the end of the grow to leach out chemicals? or, do you flush at all.

Any input is appreciated.

Keep in mind I'm using tap water with a ppm of 320 (very hard water) and a Ph of 8.5 (wow) so it has a pretty high salt content, I'd guess....right?

HUP.....Aerogarden growers. Do you know this???

Thought I heard something fall last night after lights out so I checked it out. That was the first time I'd went into my dark area since I started flowering 12/12. The small indicator lights (2) on my AG PRO200 (which I hardly notice in daylight) were reflecting off my foil emergency blanket and lighting up the room. Kinda like bright moonlight. I was amazed how much light these 2 tiny LED lights emit. I could see the entire room and plants pretty well. I had to put 3 layers of duct tape over the litttle shits to block out the light.

Has anyone else noticed this?

I wonder if that's why they haven't shown any signs of sex yet?

No more AG grows from germ to finish??? That would be sad cause those are fun!

I think mine are gonna stay 'tricked out AG grows', w/a 150 hps added for flower.

Good luck with the cloning. The AG should be good for that as well.

You gonna flower those in the AG?:bigjoint:

I have the clearex solution too and was kind of wondering the same on whether or not to dump the water and use clearex during nutrient changes especially with micro nutrients (open sesame, beastie bloomz, etc). I think if you continue using the nutes in small amts you should be alright without flushing every other week as thats what ive gathered in all my research. Folks usually say not to change out the water routinely as this puts added stress on the plants. I only bought the clearex as a flushing agent right before harvest really b/c i was thinking that you are constantly flushing your res when you add water due to the amount that the plants take up everyday. Each time you add water youre diluting the nute soup more. I could be wrong but thats what ive gathered. The only time Ive really committed myself to completely changing out the water is if there is a def sign of nute burn where clean water is needed....right now im just feeding mine once a week with less than the recommended doses and adding water when needed. I'd just use the clearex as a final flushing agent and add nutrients in small doses.....less is more as others have stated

however, keep me posted on what you find with the clearex trials....i'll be interested to hear where you go with this

Other guys here recommended it so that's why I tried it. I've flushed twice with CLEAREX without any problems. Maybe a bit of drooping the next day. Besides getting rid of excess salt buildup, I dont think it hurts them.

word....im glad its working for you. i might be doing the same
Just 1 oz./gallon....no more... Flush til your ppm meter stops rising. (15 minimum - 30min), then drain it out & refill with the Nute Mix of the WeeK. I am following the FF feeding schedule recommendations then adjusting for ppm. I had to add a bit more to kick it up to 1100 with my 320ppm tap water (1420). Without adding any Ph adjust, the nutes dropped my 8.0 tap water down under 6...yeah!

I use a plastic tube, like a small garden hose to syphon/drain it and I refill it with a flower watering can thru the AG door. (Drain it like you do a fish tank change).
