H O B O G r o w - B o x ( Various Strains )

I am growing In a Cardboard box lol ... Ive seen a few grows In a cardboard box but not many harvests ; ] I'm Growing 1 x Blue cheese plant In my box ( 2 x 4 x 2 )

& I have 1 x Speedy Gonzales ( Seedling ) Growing ] my blue cheese plant has been growing for over a month ( 30 days Veg'n / 11 days flower'n )

My blue cheese has just hit flowering ( I've had the light on 12/12 for 11 days now ) But the plant has only just start flowering : Calyx with 2 hairs shooting from the top
I have a few close up shots to show you of the flower ...

I have loads of Seeds to grow ( all Auto flowering strains ) - Himilaya Blue diesel , Short Rider , Jet 47 , Hindu Kush , White Moscow , 60 day wonder & Speedy Gonzales that I have already started

My auto flowering Speedy G , should grow quicker than my blue cheese & be almost ready to smoke at the same time . . . I started off In a small box & moved things Into a bigger box as i went along - I will be making changes as I go along

I've got a big list of things I need to buy - Lights , more soil , More fans & reflective materiel are just a few things I need ( Important Things )

I think I've mentioned all you need to know for now - If you'd like to know anything else , That I did not mention - Please , feel free to ask = ]

u shouldnt have that blue LED light on ur flowerin plant.......u should have it on ur seedling...... u need more red lighting for flowering dude......... a red LED(not 100%red tho u want sum orange and blue in it maybe sum UVB also) or warm white CFLs

I know I shouldn't your right ... my Warm white Flouros will probably be better - These are old pictures ( You'd know this if you read not just jumped straight onto the photo's lol ) ; ] we all do it though So no worries , Thanks for the advice though bud - I appreciate It & I'll take some recent photos so you know how things are ... I take It you didnt notice the Incandescent light bulb ( 'm sure that would of bothered you more than where the LED was , everyone seems to go mental when they see that light ( It's only keeping my pots warm & the box temps up ) Untill I get a ceramic light less bulb ..So I can keep the box warm at night ;]

P.s the majority of LED bulbs on that light Are Red ; ] ?How ever I do know what your getting at man

the ratio for my LED is 56:18:10:6 .... red blue orange yellow it has a red/purplish more of a red tho colour to it..... LEDs are amazin and perfect for small space grows they aqre getting alot better every year ..... there are a few companies that have proven to be the more superior LEDs ISIS, Blackstar, and Kessil.....

what are u using ofr nutes by that way

and i was going to say in post before ive never seen an auto flower kush and hindu kush is definately not auto flower...... your hindu kush is a hybrid F1 called automatic hindu kush ............. it aint pure hindu so u cant call it hindu kush sorry bro.... i am a kush head and dont tolerate wanna be shit lol...... no offence.... but it got me interested in it tho.. i know it wont match up to hindu.. u should give me the smoke report on it once its done

I'm not sure what make my LED light is ... I got It off a mate ( he let me borrow It , as he wasn't using It ) I know there are a lot better LED's than the 1 I have ... I'm lucky to have It though , So I cant complain

- I haven't used any nutes during flowering , But I fed once with Miracle Grow ( some Blue crystals ) I used a tiny amount In my water , I noticed a change in colour of my leaves ( darker green ) All in all my plant looked alot healthy after I fed with nutes & The plant has looked the same If not healthy since then ... So im not planning on feeding with the same nutes during flowering , Im trying to get some good bloom nutes ( hopefully I'll have It within a week )

Haha u crazy Kush head lol ... I don't know anyhting about strains to be honest , But It sounds like your right .... > ( the strains Is called automatic Hindu Kush ) ; ] Here's a link to the site I got them from ( they sell single seeds )

You say , LED's are good for small spaces - Someone said In another Forum that the LED needs to be quite far away from the plant :s Is that the case ( Is having the LED light closer to the plant better ? ) I read this - Adjust your LEDs to hang above your plant tops by anywhere from 5 inches to 20 inches, according to the plant's size and light intensity requirements. Your goal is to have the plant greens showered in light to their edges but not have the light spill or be wasted on surrounding areas where there are no plants. Height adjustment of lighting helps achieve this economy as plants grow, changing in both shape and size.

Now Im no expert but i say the farther away u have it the more spread out the beams/waves get and the less penetration u get but u do need to cover the plant(s) in light i would say if you worried u can always throw some cfls and use them as side lighting..... and thats the downside about LEDs is they lack penetration like teh HPSs and MHs but the advantages out way the negatives in my opinions and views/goals.... (alot less overhead you have ot pay dont have to ran as many fans and you dont use as much energy in the leds)


but i say if u have a nice scrog or LSTd well so there is only 1 canopy/layer so u acn have the light jsut shining on the canopy would be the best imo

Yh I wish I could use my HPS grow light ( 600watt ) I've only just moved Into my own place & I'm struggling to pay my way already . . . So I'm going with the cheapest way for now , maybe some time I might wire It up, strip a closet down & Grow some beauty's ; ]

But for now Lets see what I can get with an LED & some cfl's ... I'll be buying some proper grow light CFL's off the internet soon ( Warm white ) 1 Or 2

I might try a scrog If the LST'n doesn't work as well as I think It Is . . .

Update : 1/2/11

I have taken more photos today , I've noticed there Is about 5-6 bud sites on the Cheese plant now ( hopefully these will grow Into nice big colas )

My speedy G plant has grown a massive amount over the last few days , You don't realise how fast a seedling grows when you first start growing 1 - I didn't anyway but now I have my Cheese plant going Into flower while I grow speedy Gonzles... I see a noticeable size difference everyday on the Speedy G ( It Is an auto flowering strain )​

I see you are quite new to this Forum ( 27 posts / 21 Journal entries ) - So I take It you haven't seen all the successful Cardboard box grows

FYI - I'm using 2 cfl's & An LED light , Neither of them give off enough heat to cause a fire . . . STOP, THINK & Post ; ]

Yup This Is what you should of done ; ] ----- Gooogle > Search : What temperature does cardboard ignite ? > Answer : Corrugated cardboard ignites at 800°F (427°C) ; ]

There's not going to be any need for temperatures In that box to be over 80-90 f / 25-30 c . . . You see what I'm saying now ?

Update : 8/2/11 - I have taken a few shots today .. I'll be uploading them on to here

My blue cheese Is really flowering now , I've messed the times up (12/12) I was turning off at 9pm / On at 9am - But I woke up late & The plant had an extra hour of darkness , So I tuned the lights Off at 10pm / On at 10am - a few pistils browned at the tip & they didn't look as thick n healthy - The plant looked fine all fan leaves are active ... pointing towards the light
