Guys, is this OK for drain to waste watering my rockwool?

Hey Everyone,

I'm about to do a new grow and got sick and tired of cleaning hydroton. I just want something I can grow in and throw away, then start the next grow. I'm trying to keep it simple and easy.

I decided on modifying my flood and drain system to use the large big mama rockwool cubes as they fit perfectly in the bucket. I was going to flood and drain it, but read that grodan advises against flooding big mama from the bottom. So I decided to flood it from the top and thought I'd go for a drain to waste as I have a huge reservoir.

Just wondering if this is OK for watering the cubes, I'm watering each side of the cube from above for 2 minutes at a time and they look pretty saturated after each watering. Please let me know if this will be OK?

Can't wait to get this one underway... The seeds are going directly in to the cubes. :)

Will it work? Sure, but on an 8” cube i would want a more even distribution of nutes from uptop. 3 or 4 would be better imo. Or even way better:

If you feel like trying something for a future grow that makes things as easy as can be look at fabric pots, Coco, and Blumats. Hook to your existing reservoir and it's all gravity fed. No pumps or timers needed. But looks like you've got it handled with the rockwool for this grow.
