Gun ownership? Lethal force?

Do you guys own any guns? Would you shoot someone if you found them in your garden? Does your state justify lethal force in defense of property? What kind of guns ya'll got?

I've got a Winchester .22 from the '30's, a Winchester 1300 12 gauge shotty, and a Russian SKS. I take them out to the range about twice a week. Anyone else like target shooting?

I'd like a Remington 700, and yes I'd put one right in his kneecap. :)
I don't know if Ontario has any lethal force laws in defense of property, but there is alot of farmland where I live so I think it's
assumed if you walk onto someone's land you're gonna get popped. Laws are too pussified now anyway. I don't know what you're intentions are,
but I know they're not good. So if I catch you I should be able to do some body modifications.

I will shoot someone that comes on my property and doesn't leave when I tell them. It's either that or let the dogs loose. I'm a single mother. That is my protection. And I have always been told, when you shoot, shoot to kill. The dead can't testify against you.

My 5 year old even has a .22 and this will be his first year target practicing. Next year I'll take him to the deer woods. I need to get a hunting license.

LOL alright i completly understand why you would want to shoot some one to defend your property

but how is that gonna look in court when it goes like this

the DA would say "this person is charged with assault / possibly murder with a firearm"

you would say "i was defending my property"

how is the jury going to feel when the DA says "so you shot some one to defend your pot plants"

your fucked

however im also not saying that if this bitch is stealing something or comes around more often that i would, i might shoot him anyway =/

More guns= less crime. I have a CCW permit and carry a S&W 910S. Alloy frame, it's a good pistol. 9mm. In Colorado we have what's called the "Make My Day Law''. If someone trespasses your dwelling and you think they are going to commit a crime, you can use deadly force.

I did have an MP5 come into my possession a while back, I kept it for a little bit but realized my stupidity and sold it on. There is something about holding a gun that gives people a power trip..

But, fuck getting caught with a gun in the UK, I think it's a minimum of five years for possession of an illegal firearm here..

I personally think guns are stupid. :)

Yes... and more then one; all legally purchased and owned. ;)

Would you shoot someone if you found them in your garden?

Ummm I don't think that question is that simple. If I caught someone in my garden in my backyard I would not shoot them. Personally I do not feel that I could justify that in my soul as a good decision. Same thing if I caught someone trying to hot wire my car in my driveway.... yes it's my property but it's just a possession, I'm insured and it would not sit well in my soul. I would likely grab my video camera and film the fucking thief and let the police do the rest.

If I'm safe inside my home and someone is attempting to steal something outside my home where I'm in no danger I would not feel right shooting them. Now if I'm IN my car and someone tries to carjack me .... I would feel PHYSICALLY in danger and I would blast the bastard without hesitation and not feel one bit bad about it.

Everyone handles things differently and the way I handle something may not be the way someone else with a firearm does. My actions are based on what I can live with.

Does your state justify lethal force in defense of property?
FL has EXCELLENT gun laws!!! We have the Castle Doctrine (aka Stand your Ground) which states that we are allowed to ASSUME someone breaking into our home is there to cause us harm/death and we are fully justified in using deadly force. We do not have to "retreat" first either. This law extends to our vehicles and boats as well.

If someone breaks into my home while I'm there..... they are leaving in a body bag. I hope it never happens.... and luckily I have a big ass dog that barks like crazy when anyone comes on my property so hopefully his bark is all the deterrant needed to make an intruder think twice about breaking in.

I grew up with that being drilled into my head too..... no shooting to disable... you shoot to kill. You only want the police/jury to hear one side of the story... yours!

One of my favorite signs says "Intruders will be shot, survivors will be shot again"

My dad was in the army and we target practice any chance we get a soda cans at about 80-100 yards... We got a few 45 revolvers, 22's, 30 30's... but my favorite gun to shoot is his AR-15 Assult rifle, and then he has 3 SKS's (not sure what country)....
And hell yeah in Washington.. if we feel threatened or that somebody will cause bodily harm we have the right to shoot them on our property... It's a cruel world out there, and not everyone plays nice.. It's sad, but it's true... I'd rather protect myself than lay down my arms and let someone else kill me and my family instead.. one life in exchage for many is fair.
