You just don't need to have weapons of war to defend your house and family. This is the stuff of Hollywood. Handguns? Great. Shotguns? fine. Rifles? Love 'em.

And if you feel Armageddon is approaching, or the economy is collapsing, or Obama is coming to your door to seize your shit then you have other more serious issues with reality-based cognitive processing.

One last piece of imagery. If you might imagine being beamed onto an alien spaceship and traveling to their highly advanced planet, do you imagine this highly advanced civilization are all packing lasers to kill each other? Then mentally hit rewind and look at cave men, where I could imagine all the dudes were packing a gnarly club.

I've said my piece. Sorry to those that are affronted. I can't get the little kids out of my head. I'm going to let this thread die.

Then Leo does not need them either. This is a tragedy about a sick fuck and his mommy issues not the tool he used. U think my 5 shot semi-auto 20 would hav made this story any better?

Sick fuck = problem
Gun = tool

I have analogized the absurd fear of "guns" here repeatedly yet many refuse to accept these facts and keep mouthing this political fear mongering.

Imagine if you will an 8x8 solitary cell within a psyc ward of an American maxi prison occupied by a three hundred pound homicidal maniac. I reasonably want no weapons (gun or other) either in this cell or in this psyc ward correct? Here, and only here, I will support a 100% weapons ban, but I refuse to see the American people as a whole so similar to that psyc ward as to justify any such proposed ban. The problem here is clearly the 300lb psycho, the weapons not present are irrelevant yet your fear still exists.

If there were less, smaller and slower automobiles here in the US more citizens would be safer. This is just a game of words which in no way addresses any safety issue at hand.

You are the only person in this thread that keeps bringing up a "weapon ban". Nobody is trying to take away your guns. Turn off Rush Limbaugh. He has you convinced of things that do not exist. People are trying to have an adult conversation about where to draw the line with guns. Most people feel that hand guns are fine for personal protection. Most people agree that civilians owning a rocket launcher is taking the right to bear arms too far. Somewhere in the middle sits the compromise.

My point for idiots: Stop wasting everyone's time and effort talking about ANY means of violence (guns, knives, explosives, blunt objects, fire, ect) and deal with the actual problem at hand: the individuals will and motive to act violently (ie psychopaths).

I love how you resort to your pictures when you have no reasonable response.

It's cute. :-)
You may want to check yourself before you wreck yourself fool. You are way more confident than correct and it would serve you well to realize that. I have no idea how old you are nor your education, but you are clearly a part of the problem NOT the solution here.

Interesting you say that. My belief is that a handgun is sufficient to protect one's home and family. Some people may disagree with that. If someone can present a logical reason as to why I'm wrong, then I'm all ears and am open to changing my opinion. You on the other hand have dug your heels in and resorted to grade school name calling and pictures ...... and you're questioning my maturity, and calling me part of the problem? The irony is comical.

Are you that bad of a shot that you don't feel confident in your ability in taking down an intruder with a glock, and instead need a machine gun to spray 50 bullets at someone? Again, I'm open to ideas. Clear up my confusion here "TheMan".

Let's put it this way brother, I have spent time in a 8x8 with a psychopath intentionally mono on mono! If I shared your fear I would be dead and you would NOT be any safer. It is YOU (aka others) that I am concern for, not some fucking progressive talking point. Please stop!?!

with a shotgun you don't have to be a great shot at closer ranges. pistols are tricky in a home scenario. i'm staying out of this.

Cool, you've been to jail. Did you throw that out there to impress me? Scare me? Does that have anything to do with what we're talking about here?

I laid it out, and you dodged it, so I'll ask again: Is there a logical *reason* you can present to me why someone would need an assault rifle to protect ones home over a handgun? If you want to pretend that you're part of the solution, that will require you to step outside your box and think your positions through as opposed to just calling names and proclaiming that you're right.

What about me the honorable and decorated war vet? I have a decade training soldiers all around this globe in fire safety for realz, to include my own wife in a combat zone :bigjoint: Can I/we have an M4 like I/we carried all those years just for recreational/memorabilia purposes? Would my daughter and neighbors be in danger or safer?
Remember this? Is this not the third time I have referenced this post to you? Are you really this fucking dense?

You say this, but if a handful of police officers walk upto your house and attempt to take your guns by force, what're you going to do, shoot them all? No, you'll take them to court, because they'll just send in a swat team and shoot you dead. Good use those guns were.

I rather see americans and their right to bear arms like the shool child who tells his parents he needs a laptop for school work when he actually wants it so he can play computer games in his bedroom. I don't really have an issue with people owning guns if their law allows it, i wouldn't say no to a rifle and a shotgun myself, but it amuses me that you think you can stop anyone taking them off you. Although the cold dead fingers quotation seems most fitting these days because that is exactly how it would play out if you attempted to resist an officers actions, heck, these days, simply in not stopping as you cross the road when he asks you to, let alone not handing over the weapon when he asks.

If you want to own guns, that is fine, it doens't bother or concern me, but at least go about it in a mature fashion. As was stated by someone else here, it should not be possible for your kid just to pick up one of your guns and shoot you and others with it. It's a license for you to own and use guns, not anyone who happens to be in your house and stumble across it.
No see, what you aren't realizing is that IF the US government actually tried to go door to door and take peoples guns, THERE WOULD BE A WAR... People aren't going to give up their guns.. Maybe a few city slikers who only have them for home protection. But people that hunt and shoot, they will go to battle for their guns..

Can you read? I said is there a logical reason someone would need an assault rifle to PROTECT THEIR HOME!

I'm sorry, but I really don't give a shit (nor does anyone else) about your nostalgic desire to collect guns. 20 kids just died from the business end of an assault rifle, and there will be a conversation about this whether you like it or not.

I'm not going to parse words with you fucktard. The facts of the matter are clear. My posts here (NOT IN POLITICS) were to forward this thread/discussion. You then come here and begin stating illiberal/progressive talking points that you know absolutely nothing about. When that becomes obvious your panties get all in a bunch. This is not our first dance punk!
