I know this isn't a guitar forum, but there are so other players in the community that might be able to give me some suggestions.
My current gear:
Epiphone Les Paul
Boss sustain pedal
Boss overdrive/distortion pedal
Orange 30W combo amp w/ reverb
So a few months ago I got an Orange 30W Combo amp with reverb and I really can't complain about the natural tones you can achieve with this little amp. However, over the last week I've been looking to add a little more punch to this baby so I purchased a sustain pedal and an overdrive/distortion pedal. Now my question is, is it better to run the OD/DS through the amps' overdrive channel or should I use the OD/DS pedal only for clean channel? The tone seems a little muddy when using the overdrive channel and pedal, but without the overdrive channel and the pedal by itself this amp seems to lose its character as an Orange amp. And the sustain pedal I can't complain about. It does what it needs to either way.
Also, a question on the same lines. What is a good pedal order? guitar->sustain->OD/DS->amp? Or guitar->OD/DS->sustain->amp? Ive tried both ways and I can kind of hear a difference but I am not sure which is better/acceptable.
