Guess the Genotypes - Prizes!

I don´t think the cannabis gene code has been sequenced yet...and even if it has, it´s impossible to "guess" the genotype of any organism (including random bagseed) without sequencing the base pairs that make up the message first...

don´t see any pics of your plant...I could tell you if its indica or sativa dominant, but not much more than that...

I'm not wanting specifics because that is impossible. This thread was made for experienced growers that have seen a few phenotypes come and go. Some will have a pretty good clue as to what my plants may be crossed with by observing the phenotype and then trying to make an educated guess as to what Geno they are.

My guesses:

#1. Thai Sativa EDIT: Just found a deep red hair (Not human lol). So this strain is a 100 Sativa with red hair, but what kind? ^_^

#2. O.k., this one has me stumped because most of today's "Feminized seed" strains look like her and will not be an easy one until it starts filling out.

#3. It looks like some haze or blueberry strain

P.S. for my grow, just click on the part where it says "Organic Window Grow from Michoacan Bagseed". It's a Hyper Text Transfer Protocol link and will show an underline when you hover your pointer over it... Don't take this thread so seriously because it's a "Guessing game", hence the "Bagseed" in the title fro my grow. Just have fun with it. Peace

So #1 is most likely a red hair skunk (punta roja?) and not thai is the new guess after researching. Hope I'm right about it being skunk. Was open to the thought of finding an asian breed in the tent because I want to see how far these growers have traveled for their seeds.

well my computer must be retarded because none of the three pictures showed. if you get a red hair skunk how do you know its not some panama red derivative? that would be sweet and just to say thai has a very specific sweet smell if that helps anyone.

There are lots of strains with red hairs, it doesn't necessarily make it a sativa.

Feminized seeds are made from almost all varieties available and they all don't look alike.

These are some wild guesses for having nothing to base them on and haze and blueberry look nothing alike.

#1 I guess you're not looking at the pictures. You're telling me that there is a chance that this plant is somehow crossed with indica? LMAO! You're just trying to bust my balls, admit it.

#2 You're not reading my journal in it's entirety (at all)

#3 some Blueberry strains (not original) and Haze have really thin pistils and the calyx clusters that are reminiscent of either plant's phenotype in early budding production... Why? Because I've been there, done that. All plants have characteristics that remind you (if you have the experience this thread requires) of some types of plants you have good knowledge of and are somewhat an expert at from watching closely over time. Plants are unforgettable.

and finally

#4 Pictures are shit unless they are taken with professional equipment which I lack, thus the reason for my journal and pics in a link included with this thread.


For the record, this thread is for people that have seen in person a few plants come and go of different varieties. I also stated that anyone reading this should have fun with it. There is no reason for anyone to come in here like an authority (unless you can totally prove me wrong in writing or pictures) and try to make me look like an idiot when you're not even trying & just talking (without paying attention to detail) so that you can look good. LOL, not working.

It could be. The stem is really thin, the leaves are all the same size from bottom to the most mature top sets and all the nodes are evenly spaced even with all sorts of lighting conditions (my journal will show you). This is the reason I was thinking thai but I seen red hair so I changed quick... this guessing game has more to do with seeing what kinds of strains might have been used locally so the next time anyone buys a bag of Mexican shwagg, they will have an idea as to what kinds of bagseeds they are getting.

The pics are there, just have to be logged in to do that. If you idle too long, RIU will log you off.

Lately around this area in the last 5 years (Michoacan Mexico), there's been a boom of Feminized seeds from seedbanks in the fields and lots of cross pollination so that's is the reason I'm just throwing this out there.

I'm saying even people in Mexico are working with dutch genetics these days so it could be crossed with anything. Here is a 70/30 indi/sat that looks like it has a lot more sativa in it than it really does so anything is possible.

There are so many similarities between a lot of varieties out there it's ridiculous, and to be able to look at a small vegging plant and be able to tell what exactly what it is would be impossible.

You nailed it but have you ever consider a man's wisdom? I've smoked all sorts of strains and have come to know lots of plants personally. pictures in high res for download when the time comes to chop & cure + full smoke and aroma report. Everyone will make a conclusion of what it reminds them of and maybe, just maybe there might be some truth to someone's answer. Anyway, you keep pushing it so here's some pics, then tell me if they're in veg mode (still didn't check out my grow obviously...

3 gallon "Stinky Green" LST yesterday evening


Bonzai Sativa; I do apologize about the color of the pistil I mistaken for red because I forgot that pistils are good at reflecting other color spectrums if there is a radical change in lighting somewhere such as CCFL 12" tubes. Anyway, they are a dark orange (typical sativa) and won't be able to tell on this one until it's on the stretch.

I don't see your pics man. All I was saying is just because something looks similar it doesn't mean it is, a lot of plants can look similar when they are that young. No matter how experienced you are there is no way of really knowing what it is until you flower it out.
