Growing Veggies Along Side Marijuana

Is this a bad idea? thought it would be cool to grow tomatoes or cucumbers or something.

Need more details on your grow space and end goal.

Cucmbers takes up alot of space, I would stick to something of similar size like peppers or something.
Of coarse if its outside, the greater the mix of plants the better, I actualy have some pot growing between my veggies, and have virtualy no pests except for an annoying little grasshopper that stays one ahead of me.

I'm growing 4 pot plants under a 1000 watt hps bulb. just thought I'd stick a a few veggies in there and just water manually. I guess my concern was whether it was bad to grow different plants in the same room. but now that i think about it, i guess thats what it's like in nature.

For indoors in separate pots I would grow Cilantro. Besides adding flavor to your foods and smelling good, it repels spider mites and aphides.

I wouldn't grow tomatoes in the same room unless you can keep them away from your plants. My tomato plant is huge, I had to move it outdoors.

You get two types of tomatoes...
determined and undetermined....

Undetermined keeps on growing the way vines do, dtermined, stays a fixed smaller size.

Yes.

I am growing a determinate variety and they are over 3ft tall. If they were an indeterminate variety, they would easily take over my grow space.

Trust me, I am an organic food grower first.

There is no reason why not!

Let me know if you want some suggestions on what to grow in the same pots (to save space).

what about companion planting to keep the bugs off the weed?

I already answered that on the first page.

I suggested Cilantro to grow in the same room as Cannibus. Doesn't even need to be in the same pot to be a companion to Cannibus.

Care to elaborate? For example: What plants are you growing? How much is "enough" space for what you are growing? How much is "enough" light for what you are growing?

Throwing plants together without proper planning is a gamble and the odds are not in your favor.

Not planning (your garden) is planning to fail.

what about strweberrys ?

they say not to grow peppers next to tomato plants because it adds heat. i wonder if this is true for adding something to mj plants or vise versa..

Habanero X Cannabis= Hot Pot?

i have grown veggies alongside my bud many times, indoors and out. its almost as rewarding as growing cannabis!! if you want more info on companion planting look for the books "Carrots Love Tomatoes". i have hears that bit about growing peppers near tomatoes but ive never had an issue with it. besides, how are hotter peppers a bad thing??
