Hey guys I'm starting an outdoor grow this year and I'm wondering when to start the seedlings because it still very cold in the morning and night here. Do you think in the spring like April or May? Or should I wait till the summer like June or July? Also, do you think it would be a good idea to use potting soil instead of just the dirt that's there? Sorry for the noob questions I'm only done indoor growing where I can control everything.bongsmilie

I believe you can take your soil and have it analyzed, but you should def start prepping now. I'm
"north-midwest" and my frost date is May 15th. I'd imagine yours would be later?

Thanks!

The last frost date is mid to end of May and I'll try to start prepping the area tomorrow.

How much of the watering will be done naturally and how much do you need to water yourself for outdoor plants?

Thank you for you help!bongsmilie

First off, if youve got a lot of red clay, like i do Downriver, than youll want to use some sort of compost/soil mix; or just potting soil. whatever works for you. but it can get pretty dry here in the summer. youre gonna want to make sure your plants are watered well every three days or so, be it rain or by you....
also, depending on your strain, you might want to find a spot that you can use to force flower (be it by tree branches or some sort of shade) so that you wont have to worry about the fairly early frost.
