Growing non-marijuana plants under lights in warehouse space profitable?

Hey, I've got a pretty low income, so growing any plant (pot or non pot) indoors would prove to be quite the financial strain for me. A small warehouse space, or a small office space, used for growing, would actually be within my price range. The question is this: If I were to rent an office space for say $125 per month, electrical costs being $60 a month tops, and $75 misc. expenses, could I grow non-marijuana plants under lights and make a profit or cover my expenses? So $260 expenses monthly, and when I mean non-marijuana I am quite serious, not "theorizing". What kind of plants would have to be grown? Are there any businesses out there that actually grow non-marijuana plants indoors and still make profit? I suppose the point of such an operation would be that it would eventually segway into growing marijuana, after having ascertained that nobody would be nosing around the area, given the power consumption/nobody knows what the business is.

The end goal being: grow enough bud for personal use, but have a legitimate cover business to avoid drawing suspicion, and cover all expenses incurred.

Why grow legitimate plants indoors? Cold winter months, locally grown produce, fresh winter produce, 100% organic certification. (although artificial lighting is by necessity unnatural)

I feel that marijuana should be availiable for free or almost free to every consenting adult in the world, not profited from by giant businesses. Small, grown-with-love mom and pop operations that make less than $75,000 annually? I say rock on.

If growing legal plants under artificial lighting is actually profitable, it will catch on very quickly where I live, as people here are into starting businesses, and chances are, the operation I would have going would just be one of thousands within 6 months. (but they probably wouldnt think to grow bud!)

hydroponic lettuce and tomatoes are very popular with some chefs. how much space and how many lights do you intend to use? it can be done just remember the principal of economy of scale. if you can compete other suppliers in your area go for it! as far as plants look into cucumbers tomatoes lettuce herbs gourmet beets peppers and chilies. pretty much any veggie plant that stays some what small should work.

Are you serious? Are you against people making real money or something?

think about this: companies that work for other companies will advertise like this "our company manages another companys records in such a way that another company can now focus on better customer service" when in reality, they have just provided the company with fewer reasons to hire employees, fewer expenses, and more profit for their already rich CEOs. I guess I don't mean what I said, I just wish I could have a grow and make a small living off of it, or get enough for my own use. Rather, I have no grow at all, and pay ridiculous prices for mediocre bud. The question to me is why should one person have multiple summer homes, while another person works their ass off every day just to put food on the table?

I get where you're coming from. IMO the answer is: work smarter. I of course don't mean that in any offensive way, just a play on "work smart, not hard." Read "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" its a great book, easy to read, worth the read and my comment would make more sense after reading it. If you want mutiple summer homes then you need to be willing to do whats required to get them and chances are it won't be easy, that's what separates most people.

You've already expressed interest in starting your own grow, now you have to decide if it will help you reach your goals and if so, get started. If it won't help you reach your goals and is just a hobby then treat it like one and spend most of your energy on getting those summer homes :)

As far as what plants you could grow and sell that wouldn't be weed related that could be a hard one. I would imagine that to grow "certified" organic veggies or whatever I imagine it would require a business license, inspections by whoever is going to certify you not to mention you need to be able to sell them for the same price or cheaper than your target market can by them from the big guys who buy everything in bulk to lower their overhead. I think its a cool idea but implantation seems like a nightmare to me.
