Growing medium help For DWC?

Hey there.. Just looking for some advise.

I am a Hydro grower in DWC and been having so many issues with Rockwool for Dampering, as Rockwool is always way to wet causing mold issues. What sponges (Medium) would you recommend that do not absorb so much water, but yet produce enough to keep a Germ taproot up to its needs withought drenching the baby?. (Grown from seed, yet Germed in Paper towel until 1" Taproot). Also, what do you think are the best "Stones" to put around the sponges?...Looking on eGay for all this...so complete answers would be great (Growstones or Hydroton Clay for surrounding the sponge?)..any help with what you had the most success is greatly appreciated ...

And yes, I have lots of circulation in the room with a 600W MH and HPS with a 11 Gallon for 4 plants..temp always at 75F and Humidity below 20%....Just looking to buy some fem seeds and I do not want the Dampering issue once again.

Thanks.

For my DWC, I use Root Riot cubes and well washed lava rock to fill in the rest of the pot. I definitely don't get that green shit that I have seen here and there on Rockwool. You can get the cubes on eBay or Amazon and lava rock is at pretty much every nursery and at some home improvement stores. I'm sure you order lava rock on the net too, but it really is a pretty common thing to be able to find. Be sure you wash that stuff until the water draining off isn't red color anymore. I germ seeds and make clones in a tray that holds the cubes with a humidity dome and warming mat underneath. When I see roots come out I stick the cube on top of a layer of lava rock in the net pot and then surround/support the cube by filling in the rest with lava rocks and top-water until the roots can reach into the res.
