Growing in the middle of my room?

Newb here, I was wondering since I dont have much room in my closet if I could grow in the corner of my bedroom? I wasnt sure if there would be any problems with this or not. Also in the dark cycles when the light is not on does it have to be completely dark in my room?
I was going to start off with 3 plants would a 400w mh for veg and a 400w hps for flowering be the right light for this kind of grow?

Ok, cool. I think If I cover up my blinds it would be completely dark. It would be much easier for me to control the temp in my room also.

just out of curiousity how would you simulate moonlight, i never quite understood why its supposed to be complete darkness when there is a little bit of light illuminated off the moon

400w/16sqft = 25w per sqft.

Definitely not enough light for a 4X4 area. You should aim for at least 50w/sqft. 2X4ft would be a little better. Save yourself some hassle and build a cabinet.

A 400w without any type of confinement will burn a hole in your brain if your in there while it's on. You'll also have light spilling out windows (if there are any) and from under the door.

You'll probably end up getting hermiated plants in flower from darkness issues. You need uninterupted dark perids consistantly.

You need to find a cheap way to confine your grow. Your biggest problem would likely be ventilating that bulb but when there's a will there's a way!

True that. I've looked at my plants in the moonlight before that was as bright as a cloudy day. Complete darkness must not be that important. Just no bright lights or flashes I'd guess.

Plants that are stressed during flower particularity by dark-period light exposure will often become hermaphrodites. They will show male characteristics and self pollinate leaving you with buds full of seeds.

3 plants if fine. It's not the number of plants that matters. It depends on how long you stay in the vegetative stage and the footprint (size) of the canopy. If three plants take up 8sqft, great.

If you have a group of very small clones you could get away with allot more (sea of green) but you won't necessarily get more yield either way. Just do your three girls. Veg them until you get a nice size bush under your light and switch to 12/12. Just remember to control light leaks and keep it ventilated. Good luck!

Note: I'd suggest doing some research on LST (Low Stress Training)

I looked up the wardrobe box online and it looks perfect. I can even hang my light from the close hanger bar that comes with the box. My only concern would be catching on fire with a 400w hps. Also would the mylar not make it hotter inside I know I would need to ventilate but a fire would obviously not be good.

Thus begins the journey:blsmoke: 400watt and up always has issues that are a pain. Depending on how cool you can keep your place you'll either need a osculating desk fan or up to a 200cfm inline fan or blower.

This is where things get noisy and visually obvious. I suggest not doing it in the bedroom you sleep in. If your vegging in the area your sleeping your schedule is going to be dictated by your grow. I slept 6 hrs a day for 2months last year and it sucks ass

U shouldn't have any fire issues. You'll be all good. Make sure u cut a hole in the bottom and top. Use commputer fans to bring in the cool air. And a small exhaust fan in top to exhaust the hot air and wolla presto insant grow room
