pictures didnt come through will fix later .....first off this is my first thread excuse mistakes as i am not computer savvy. so here it is......

...looks pretty ordinary, i'll give it that but ....alakazzam
and there she is folks even though this death star is not fully operational, it is still a formidable force. i have some work to do but here is the layout so far

i removed the fan from that hole in the back and cut a hole in the side (outer shell) of the fridge, freezer side
on the inside i drilled some holes, fucked around, cussed at it, cut myself a few times and voila, fan.....in the side......of the damn freezer, ya dig.

..see this cabinet...
..it will hide my cords, my heat exchanger..(more into that later stay tuned..) all the hoses to run a passive ventilation system as well as thru-type heat exhaustion through a cool tube.

currently i am growing seedlings with 2 26w 6500k 1600 lmnz coil cfls with 2 f15 daylight 17w 700k tubes.
not much, i know this, however with the small space white interior and reflective film on the door, its fucking bright
. and the plants are thriving.

i am using a tray i bought at wally world for 5 bucks painted black with rhino liner, and a styrofoam slab that came with a microwave that had 15 perfect 2" holes in it so i cut it to fit in side the tub perfectly and snuggly down to the first ridge in the tub
. i run 8 liters of nutrient solution with a bubblerwith a layer of hydroton to keep the light out and control the evaporation.
the styrofoam floats on the solution i have plastic spikes in the rock wool to suspend the plants and keep from falling through.

600 ppm advanced nutrients, 8 liters, 6ml micro, 4ml grow, 2ml bloom, 8ml sensizym, 1 capfull hydrogen peroxide, yes fucking peroxide.....helps oxygenate. ph every morning adjusted to 5.4-5.5 range, burns through about 4/5 of a liter in 12 hours. changing nutes every week right now for little ones.

... this is the lower cab i have removed the shelves for in the doors and lined with reflective film ... hey to all you guys using foil, STOP!!!!! that shit absorbes photons....ok....so.. ive cut a series of five holes in the outer shell of my fridge and removed the fiberglass stuffing between the inner and outer shell heres a pic of one of those holes through the 4" hole i have cut inside for the cooltube(on its way from ebay right now).
...over on the other side you will see that i have cut holes in the side of the cabinet as well as the lower and upper halves of the fridge...
..
.

keep in mind the hose routing as you see it is only to show you the locations of the holes. i will post more in the next few days please post comments with good taste.

nice work. I had alot of heat issues with my first grow fridge. 115 degrees during the summer sometimes. But the first one was with alot of 42 watt cfls, so im making a new one with two 2'x2' t5 fixtures, one on the top half and one on the bottom. 10,000 lumens each + Lowryder= 1 oz a week :) . But thats once i get some money from my actuall grow.

yeah, fan speed controller idea. i kinda thought about this already but i am going to play it by ear on that one, see the tube is still going to be producing heat, the fan that i have in the side of the freezer is not a super high speed fan, its small and chincy so to put a controller on that little three inch fan wouldnt do much, however i do fully plan on using one on the draft inducer that i am going to use to exhaust the light. a 150cfm fan is going to pull so much air over that light so it is there that i will regulate it for temperature, the heat exchanger is not going to be a super duper radiator either, the flow is going to be slow and since i am not using a chiller i am going to pull semi-filtered water straight out of the sump pump crock in the corner to run the exchanger. it stays 1/3 full all year, its clean ground water and i dont have to pay to run that thing except for a pump. thanx for the interest if you have anymore ideas...PLEASE bring them forth, these are medical cali orange in there that i got from a single bud that i bought at a dispensary in L.A. i dont wantto fuck these up

A++++++ MAN

heres a great ? 4 you...

heat is a issue inside these, would it be possible to just leave the fridge on???????????? some go up to 70 degrees, add a 150 or 250 hps and whalla, magical 72-78 degrees?

i like that!! ummm colas!! But sorrowful might be on to something. You might want to think of a lock of some kind.

i put two contractor locks on mine. home depot has good ones. Im working on a hidden latch design for fridges, so it has a secret lock, and doesnt raise suspicion ( a fridge with locks on it is a little suspicious). just a thought

well about leaving the fridge on i dont think that would be a good idea for several reasons one being that the system isnt designed the regulate heat, only cold, so you would burn up the compressor and i think it would end up using way too much power anyway, second off, gutting the fridge opens up a lot of much needed space and also yields materials that you can use, I.E. cords, wires, chiller coil for the exchanger, i use the drawers to hold my plants during maintenance, all kinds of shit, plus i had to cut many holes to move the air around and as we know air movement is crucial here. as far as the lock goes, i have no life, i am a mister mom with a wife and a job and i am always broke i have literally spent next to nothing on this setup. i dont have any friends that come over to visit and i am a hopeless hermit, i dont even know how i ended up with a family but i am gratefull that my wife puts up wit my shit. i have this thig in my laundry room for christ's sake, and i have told absolutely nobody about this accept for you guys

wow... that's amazing... honestly ... nice and stealthy... see ppl would see the fridge and 1 it's air tight. 2 they would hear the sound of the fan but would just think it's the fridge running that's even sweeter and you hid everything to make it look stealthy that's great... good one bud...

but um... what if someone (without asking) goes to reach for a beer and sees um.... well... haha ... nice one bud

the cool thing about this is that its in my laundry room, its behind a closed door. the only reason anyone would be in there is to do the laundry and thats just going to be me and the ole lady. as a matter of fact i have had one of my buddies down there only once since i started this thing and he didnt know shit. since that is where i go in the winter time to smoke weed anyway the slight smell doesnt tip it off.
