Growing in 100% coco outdoor

Ive been a coco grower indoor for many years with no problems, growing outdoors in coco I'm always getting root rot, live on the equator its hot as all year round. I was thinking instead of pots to dig a 20 gallon hole in the ground and fill it with straight coco. Can anyone see any problems with this?

I put my pepper pots sub terrain. I live in the desert. You could bury half a fabric pot if you want the air flow.

yeah coco outdoor works great for vegetables etc
i love to circle the pots with pine spikes all around it to isolate the pot from the outdoor heat/coldness
but in very rainy country it can create problem because of the rain rinsing the coco and the nutrient/ph
the best is to do it in a greenhouse :p

I lost a couple to root issues. Roasted fabric/rootball in Norcal sun, and I was a noob.

Its fun when it works.

You can over water coco. You don't want it to dry as much as soil but it needs to dry some between watering. Perhaps it's rain?

If you can dig a trench to the hole and bury a drainage pipe that pops out the side of a hill then line the bottom with some river rock for good drainage something like that could work.
