Growing from seed in my window---need tips

im curently trying to grow from seed in my window..one has took of and is about 3 inches tall but the first feeder leaves are growing funny and the second seed i planted isnt starting to root..its been over a week..please give me some good pointers..any advice at all

well growing in your window can be done but its not recomended ,mj needs lots of light. cfls are so cheap id just buy some of them .

i have some cilantro seedlings in the window sill absolute pain in the ass. tomatoes,peppers and oh yeah pot, under metal halide

whats that..lights?.and also how would it effect my hydro bill?

is it worth it to let them go till they can go outside...like mid-may?

i dont think lights would affect your water bill

ok so what can i do about the seed that wont root..is it no good? it came from some boom skunk weed...my other one took off and i did the exact same thing...just planted it watered it...and covered it

i always germinate before i put them in soil. you can take a tooth pick and gently move the soil and look at the seed if the taproot is out point it down and recover the soil make sure you keep the soil extremely moist .goodluck

anymore tips for a sucess

this is how i start plants ,,,72 cell tray w/dome , fill desired cells w/jiffy mix, germinate in paper towle, when shell cracks place in cell (1/8" deep) keep temp in dome 80 degrees in 2-4 days the sprout will be to the top of the cell squeeze the bottom of the cell so dirt and sprout release (useually the tap root has made it to the bottom)place in pot and put under metal halide i also use a cool 26w cfl directly above the dome. w/ this method the seedling will be at least 4" from top to bottom of tap root when it comes out of the dome off to a healthy start the trays w/dome are like 5 bucks and are re usable . always ph soil BEFORE you transplant! its like this proper preperation prevents poor performance. you can burn your plant by adjusting ph because acids and bases are caustic

how do i adjust the ph in order to trnasplant...is it by adding something?

take the soil you will be transplanting into, thoroughly wet it take a ph reading then adjust. i condition my soil w/lime to raise . if ph is high which is useually never myself i would use soil sulfur to lower

whats a good reading? im going out today to get some sstuff..and is it too eaarlyto add shit like miracle grow..or something...my plant isa about 4-5 inches and has 6 leaves...

i use a analog tester (rapidtest) and i keep my soil between 6.5 and 7 and i feed my plants the day they come out of the dome 5-10-5 at half strenght once a week for a month. everyone says not to feed for a month , i dont buy into that nonsense if the plant cant handle 2.5-5-2.5 kill it and start another one in my experiance its plants like that that fuck w/you the whole time ya know sleepless nights

i have a 5 month old female pant,2 feet in heigth very round and full of branches in a 4 gallon pot.It sits in a closet and had already started to bud in early spring but stopped and continued to veg plant is healthy and seems to be doing well in window in a closet if continued will it produce quality buds with decent quantity oh yeah window is facing north and we live in illinois
