Growing By The Sea

Sounds nice and all but just wondering if any of you know just how close to the sea one can grow? I found a lovely spot for a guerilla grow and the soil is amazingly dark and rich which is surprising seeing as it's only 20 metres/yards horizontally from the high tide level. However it's also about 60/70ft above it on a hill. So would this be suitable for a grow? Salt etc cause problems?

Is this the open ocean or an inland waterway?

it's the humidity you'll have to worry about, i used to grow near the ocean and the fog at night was very thick.
so if it's sunny it'll be fine but otherwise...

i was on vacation a few years ago on daytona beach and i spotted a plant about 3 foot tall in a vacant lot next to where we were staying and it was right on the beach. i told the guy that owned the motel about my find but haven't been back to now the out come. it was still vegging but looked very healthy at the time.

OG = ocean grown

Must be good if grown near the ocean
either you're making a joke or im wrong but i am fairly certain OG stands for "Original Gangsta". Meaning the ORIGINAL genotype of a strain when applied to marijuana i.e. OG kush= Original Kush genotype.

but like i said i may have missed the joke?

OG Kush = Ocean Grown Kush

Easy to confuse this acronym with Original Gangsta

The jokes on you triple OG

it's a very secluded spot and it's wind sheltered, seems to me that it's worth a shot I'll throw a load of bag seed seedlings up there and see how they do with a little bit of compost etc to help them along. I'm in Ireland so the weather's not got but it looks like we're in for a heatwave summer (by our standards) so I might buy some autoflowers and put them up too. I'll see how it develops and post a few updates.

Might call the stuff Salty Green or Popeye seeing as i don't know what strains the bags were. :)

i've been googling it and its definitley a never ending debate between "Ocean Grown" and "Original Gangster". no one can agree on it.

i've found "Ocean Grown" because it grows better at sea level rather than in the mountains, and "Original Gangster" because once all the kush crosses started appearing people wanted the original genetics.

idk both make sense to me.

nope, he was right. In the factual story of the origins of og kush they state clearly that title derives from being grown at ocean level. Hence " og " Ocean Grown  Read up on it, p.s. no joke

Where are you getting your info from. I am a grower of og kush and I have never heard of or know what your talking about^^^^ original kush genotype?? ogkush doesnt have the kush gene in it technically. It is a cross between Old world pakistani and lemon thai crossed with chemdawg. Again no joke.

ok dude since i never heard "ocean grown" i thought he might be making some kind of pun cuz the threads title is "growing by the sea". you can stop telling me its not a joke. also, i did research it as i said in my post above yours so you can stop quoting my first post which i admit was uneducated. but i did clearly state that i could be wrong about it.

and by original kush i mean not a cross from it(master, purple, etc.).

If you dont know then dont just spout random bs that you think is right. Thats what I hate about these forums sometimes. Guys here something and before you know an ever growing circle of bullshit gets bigger. Whether it be about strain info or lighting, nutes, etc. Im sorry I called you out so bad when you had no clue what you were talking about...

wow chill out dude i was wrong about the name of a plant. sorry im not an expert on the history of marijuana strains. i havent been growing that long and im from a small town where the weed you buy is either called "headies", "outdoors", or "middies" so i havent had the chance to experience individual strains. i doubt you started out knowing all that information either.

You can correct people without being condescending. thats what I HATE about this forum sometimes.
