20190727_200218.jpg Hi all,
I just started growing after 40+ years. Haven't ever grown anything in my life.

Let me start by saying I got VERY LUCKY. IF YOU HAVE A SPACE WITH HIGH TEMP AND RH ISSUES THIS THREAD IS NOT FOR YOU!!!

I have a basement that is 73 Deg and 45%RH year round. So very lucky for a grow area.

Anyways I'll do my best to stay short so disclaimer...

I did A LOT of reading and got tons of advice from people.(Thanks all).
So I figured this is my way of giving a little back...

The choices I made I have my reasons for be them good or bad but it is what it is.

Okay,
I got 3 bag seeds, put them in a paper towel and 3 days later went OH SHIT I have seedlings.
I HAD NOTHING TO START WITH!!!
Anyways here's my suggested timeline with costs...

Week 1
1- 4 pack 27w CFL
Lowes-$15

2 bags Miracle Gro Performance Organics Garden Soil
Lowes-$20

5 pack 3gal Fabric pots. Amazon-$10

1-1gal?? Humidifier
Lowes-$35

Total investment to start-$80

Week 2
Space Heater
Amazon-$35

Box fan
Walmart-$15
Week 2 investment-$50

Week 3-6
SAVE $50 A WEEK
Let the CFL's,soil, heat and air do their thing.

Its working.

I promise...

Week 7
Hydrocrunch 315W CMH Light Kit enclosed Reflector with 1 Phillips 3100k Pro Bulb, Analog timer and 2 1/8th inch ratchet straps
Ebay-$185
Week 7 investment-$185

Week 8
General Hydroponics 3 part Flora Newts
Amazon-$35

Total investment-$350 over 7 weeks...Buy a quarter instead of a 1/2 and there's your $50 a week!:)

Leaves $150 for incidentals.

I know I left stuff out but that basically covers it guys. I know it works because I am doing it right now. Week 2 of flower, have a crap load of clones and best part is...

You'll NEVER PAY FOR WEED AGAIN!!!

Hope this helps all you new guys out. There's a ton of confusing info on the interweb.

I just figured I'd share with you what worked for me.

Miracle Gro Organic. I’m trying it out right now. It’s absolutely not hot. Have 6 Northern Lights clones cranking along in it. Not recommending but saying for those that see MG and immediately say no. It does require cutting with perlite. Suggest 1:1.

Fairly good, but theres a few ways this can be done better and cheaper.

A pack of sylvanna led bulbs from Walmart around the same price and you get way more light, and a bag of premium potting soil from your local nursery is going to be more dirt, higher quality, same price.
Nutrients, I use a balanced 20-20-20 the whole cycle with outstanding results. Its 5$ for a small jar that will last 2 cycles this size. 10$ for a jar that would last 10 cycles this size. My running costs per lb are around 110-180.

Good work brotha!

Thanks!
And please anyone who has easy suggestions that the regular Joe with minimal funds shopping online or ina big box store could benefit from add them here.

My list only got that small after hours and hundreds of dollars wasted...
Live and learn :)
