Hello guys! im new to the growing community. Im from San diego CA. recently moved into a new apartment that comes with a garage i have decided to turn into a grow op .

My budget is about $1500 to start with. ( as in lets start investing $ for vegging stage first)

I dont have a defenite goal , considering this will be my first time growing. so for now just keeping my plants live and well - maybe try scrog. that is all im looking for .

So i'm torn between set ups. What would be the best value? having a veg tent and a flower, or is it possible to seal my entire garage. My garage is connected into a complex of garages. so there is a gap on both sides of the ceiling ( ill attach a photo) . If i go with the entire garage route , how practical is it to seal these gaps??

This grow Opp...is a sure fast way to get Evicted, hence the reason to use a portable Tent, for those on the move...
really hard to believe I'd get evicted .. I mean that's why I wanted to see if I can build a stealth room inside the garage . If I were to use the entire garage . I'd like to light proof it all as well as smell of course ! But I see tents are obviously stealthier . Would I be wasting my time fixing the garage ?

The amperage is a good one .. would LEDs solve that issue ? Since they do draw half the power of an HPS?

Would say go with a tent or make a 5x5 room and do a 4x4 grow. Smaller area is easier to keep clean and easier to control. Think I will be in tents for a wile if something goes wrong in one I don't lose everything. Or that's my logic anyways not sure how sound it is lol

Then again no clue what your purpose is. If your going for personal smoke or to learn go 5x5 grow area and 4x4 grow. This will give you room to grow 1 pound a cycle when you get good, less until then also the cost wont be as high as setting up the whole garage. Once you get things started in the 5x5 you will have approximately 2 months to setup a 2x4 veg room then by the time your done flowering you should have some nicely veged plants to put in your flower area. But truthfully a shared garage is a bad idea would go for you bedroom your landlord isn't going to like paying your electrical cost fro your grow and they will notice!

I had a tent once. Used it. Would not like to back to it. They wind up like swiss cheese overtime. The develop light leaks, only thing to do is duct tape em.

You just use black and white poly to make an outer shell. It's easy. Nicer tents like Gorilla are less prone to light leaks, but I still double down with the plastic.

That is a good solution for crappy products. Why not build a frame then to start with and put poly on it.
That's one option, but tents are plug and play. Plus, if you need to tear it down, you can do so in under an hour or two.

Even if I were to frame something, I would probably double down on the poly. I framed up one of my rooms, but used drywall.
