Grow tent advice needed

Okay so I started my grow in Dwc in my closet. (First grow) planning to perpetual grow I quickly realized the heat and space in my closet that it wouldn't work. Long story short I've got a 4x4x78 on the way. I have a 600watt I power a 400watt Apollo. also I have a carbon exhaust fan and another intake fan on the way. My questions are basically this. 1 will the 600 be good for the 4x4? 2 how many clones should I put in veg to fill my tent and any other unforeseen things I'm not thinking about. Just wanting a legit set up now so i can enjoy it later.

It really depends on the strain your running man. I run a 750 watt hps in a 5x5 so a 600 should do you pretty good in a 4x4. I run 4 plants in my tent. I trained them to be a sea of green type grow. Heres a pic.

Nice. Well right now I just have two gdp and one lemon skunk going that I planned to clone before flower. Other seeds I'm sitting on until I have more experience are hso green crack fem hso og kush fem 1white widow fem afghani reg and sensi kush don't which if any are better yielders for later. I know the gdp should be more bushy and I'm not to sure on the lemon skunk.

This is my first time doin a sea of green and i highly recommend it. I topped all my plants and vegged them for bout two more weeks after that so they could recover. Its all about an even canopy my friend. And those kush strains are perfect for sea of green. Im runnin barneys farm critical kush. If you setup your room right u can do some damage in a 4x4 tent.

My first grows were in a room whre i had my plants spread way to far apart lights too far awy jus a learning curve bt once i gt my tent frm thre on out things only improved i comfortably fited 9 buckets wth 9 healthy plants & was getn a pound of dry bud consitintly tents are the goods easy to control yr enviroment, if yr going to fim or top yr plants & train them dwn 4 plants will fill yr tent but if its yr 1st grow i myself wld recomend doing more thn 4 maybe double it (at least) To allow for any issues along the way tht way u can experience a lil wth thm ie; fiming lst toping etc leave 1 to grw out naturally so u can see wt wrks fr u & wt doesn't bst way to learn is by tryn dif things well good luck my friend im sure u'll grw sm premo bud

Okay so what about ventilation I have 2 fans one with a carbon filter should I use one as an intake or I was reading about using 2 exhaust to help control temps. Not quite sure how to do that. Do I want more fresh air coming in or more old air going out. In other words which can should be stronger intake or exhaust.

Personally i think if you've gt a good intake wth fresh air coming in and a good exaust yr temps should be ok the tents have holes for fans and brackets to put carbon filter etc if u hve 1 fan thats stronger than the other I'd put that on the exaust cause your pullin the air thru the filter.

How are u planing on seting up the fans? Jus turning on whn lights are on or do u have a thermstat ive found thermostats to be awesome cause that way fans are not constantly on but as soon as it hits the temp u set it at they switch on until they go back under that temp again, keeping a constant heat which is good for your pIants, imagine it'll save on power etc in the long run too, hope this helps bro and good luck nothing beats smokin a nice fat bud u grew yourself :bigjoint:

Yeah I have one that's stronger than the other so I'll do that as exhaust. I guess I plan on running them all day mostly because I've invested a lot into this just by reading and wanting to do it right. All of you guys on here are lifesavers. ive got grow books but you can't ask a grow guide a question. So thanks for putting up with my newness.

im not 100% on this but I don't think 4 plants in a 5x5 is a SoG style grow...more like a ScROG or LST type thing where you trained them to bush out. SOG is more like 9 smaller plants...but I could be wrong on that. not trying to pick ya apart :)

a 600w will be fine for a 4x4 tent. I have always like ScROG style growing which will provide you with the results pjd907, he just does not have the screen which you really don't need anyways.

Sea of green is typically thought of as a lot of smaller clones in rotation, so let's say 42 in a 4x4 area. You would put 6 of the clones in flowering a week for eight weeks and cutting 6 new clones each time you put in 6 to flower. So after your first eight weeks of flowering you would cut down 6 out of 42, leaving 36 in various stages of flower. Then at this same time you should have in your clone room 24ish clones in various stages of veg, with 6 ready to go into flower to replace the ones you just harvested.

Keep repeating that cycle, so every week you have 6 coming down and six going in, for a total of 42 plants harvested a month.

Of course you can do this with 4 plants. Just stagger by two weeks. So every two weeks a plant goes into flowering and one is chopped down. So if OP is throwing one plant in every two weeks it is a sea of green. If not, OP is just growing some bud in the good old fashion.

So another question on nutes. I know what the thread is but I don't want to start a million threads and people are responding on this one. Anyway I have first true leaves growing week 2 seedling and started nutes at 1/4 my tap water is about 190 so with nutes I'm at about 390 does this sound right. Also do I increase once a week on res change or top off based on ppm? What should my approximate ppm be at full strength for veg? Or do I keep going up until plant shows nute burn stress and back ppm off? So much to learn.
