Grow room smells

So got a question. About smells in the tent, growing 5 Girl Scout Cookie autos from weedseedsexpress. In a 5x5 with 5 gal fabric pots under 2 1200 philzon led.
There currently in week 7 bout 2 n half weeks into flower. Fed and watered them yesterday. Went to check em today (temps, rh) Noticed I got a oniony garlic smell going on?

Now I’m not a fan of either smells so it’s bothering me. Just wondering if anyone has had this happen on there grows over grown 2 other of the Girl Scout autos outdoor and they had no smell like that. Seeds came from same pack.
Only thing I been wondering Is this grow I’m using giaga greens organic ferts 4-4-4 and 2-8-4. I top dressed yesterday but even last night before I went to bed no smell.
Could the giaga greens ferts be the source of smell?
Thanks in advance.

The garlic / onion smell is common with some strains, like gorilla glue for example has some of that going on. Generally as the plant matures the smell gets more complex. I highly doubt the nutrients altered the terpene profile except perhaps your plants are better fed and pampered indoors and therefore are producing more terpenes. Equal grower/plant, a plant grown indoors will be more terpy than one grown outdoors and one grown in hydro indoors will be through the roof.

Rub the stem or a sugar leaf and smell your fingers, if thats the same smell then all is good. If the smell were to be coming from something else we would want to know.

x2.

Renfro is the GOAT, and is spot on about certain strains having the "garlic" smell to them. Thing is, I didn't think that GSC had that smell? I have zero experience growing GSC so keep that in mind, but I thought GSC had a "sweet cookie" smell to it and not garlic.

I don't know of anything else that could cause that smell aside from the plant itself.

How reliable is the source where you got the seeds from? It's possible what you're growing isn't actually GSC at all and is something else entirely.

Thats the thing too, I think he is saying the seeds are from the same pack as the plants his buddy grew outdoors that didn't have the garlic / onion smell. Maybe they got mixed up during planting or something? I quoted that part of the OP below. Like you mentioned, he seems to be growing something else entirely. Never had that terpene profile from a GSC and it's not a ruderalis trait. Odd that all the plants from that same pack would be like this, maybe it's just one plant in his grow making the smell, a random bean that made its way into the pack?

I'm not entirely sure myself, being truthful with you. I've never touched GSC, flowers nor have a grown the strain out, but I've always heard the "hype" from GSC was how it smelled and tasted like not just cookies, but Girl Scout Cookies.

I was kind of hoping you've heard of the seed bank he went through, because it could disprove my thinking the seed bank wasn't legit. But to me (and again, no experience growing GSC), I would think the seeds are not true GSC.

I do believe OP's strain he's growing smells like garlic/onion, but I'm having serious doubts as to whether the strain in question is in fact GSC at this point.

Again, I very well could be wrong, but its seemingly like to me that the only explanation is that the strain is not in fact GSC and must be something else entirely.

You speaking out only confirms it for me, considering your experience. I've never dealt with the seed bank OP listed either, personally. So that has me slightly weary as well.

I just wonder why the seeds his buddy grew out from that same pack didn't have the smell. It could be a genetic stability issue resulting a phenotype that is just way different than the other beans in the pack. I wonder if all or just one of the plants he is growing now have that garlic/onion smell or if it's just one oddball.

I have never personally grown a GSC but I have seen/smoked some from a fellow grower, it was more of a sweet earthy, slightly peppery aroma. I don't have any experience with that seed bank fwiw.

So I got 20 beans from the seed bank I planted 4 outside just to get some going( I still had my indoor tents full at that time)
I lost 2 of them due to my dog and one he topped by eating the top. Anyways the 2 are almost done now they both smell amazing and they both smell very similar to some quad Girl Scout cookie bud I had before.

I’ve also wondered if the beans are legit true to the strain but the ones I grew outdoor have me convinced they are.

I just can’t get over this new smell in my grow room I mean it’s not overly bad I turn on the fans exhaust some air around and the smell is very faint and slowly builds back. Just weird I didn’t smell it before 3 days ago and now it’s just there. I’ve even looking in the room it’s self and walls to see if there’s anything that can be causing it.

GSC - or maybe GMO Cookies? (A strain / pheno that has a savory flavor and aroma).
edit: read reviews for notes on the garlic & onion aroma. I can only imagine how that is during the grow!
edit 2: I've purchased GMO Cookies - it does smell like garlic & onions! Really strange; REALLY stoney. IMHO, plug your nose and grow! ;)

Sounds like one of those 'spicy' strains. I loved Jack Herer for this, it had the right amount of spicy and pungent. I gotta get that strain back. You knew just by the taste it was about to fuck you right up.

True cookies does have a slightly chocolate taste/aroma that reminds you of baked chocolate chip cookies.

It could be your grow conditions bringing it out. I know that when I trim for outdoor growers their weed smells like ammonia/catpiss a lot even though the strain isn't known for it. I think the cold nights or some other environmental factor bring it out.
