.....so I showed up to my op and my CHHC-4 was off. my room was in the 90's. i'm at the beginning of week 10. i'm running co2 @1500ppm. should I be concerned or will things be chill. lol pardon the pun. everything looked ok but i'm worried about the heat stress from the event will cause late hermying or something like thc loss. any input is appreciated thanks!!

P.S. I usually keep my room at 75 but since it was late in flower i've been keeping it at 70.

great question. I walked in to my flower room the other day and my A/C was froze up and my room was 109, I try to keep it around 75 but twards the end of the light cycle it starts creeping up to around 80-85 depending on the weather out side.

If your a/c is freezing up it means you most likely have a leak somewhere. a/c's will freeze up when they don't have the correct amount of refrigerant in them. I've been through this problem before. I changed all sorts of shit to try and fix it, thinking I did something wrong. turns out there was a small leak in my system. call a tech to come look at your a/c. sucks I know. check your local hydro store to try and find a trusted tech that they use to help you discreetly. My a/c's time delay on and off for the blower is burned out so it just goes on and off with the compressor. I'm thinking that a power surge from that or the fact that my dehum is plugged into my sentinel instead of a relay with a 110v coil that caused the surge that turned my sentinel off. cuz the sentinel chhc-4 has its own surge protector built in. which is kinda cool but at the same time it shuts off if anything crazy happens. and i'm a remote op so i'm not there everyday. =(

at 75 and 70 your plants arent able to use the supplemented co2 properly. 80-84 is much better.
I won't argue this cause i've heard it before. but I've also been told that you loose thc potency above 82. what can you say about this? I guess I could run at 80-81. also are you saying since I was running co2 that I averted most of any kind of disaster?
I did notice on one of my strawberry coughs a bannana boat mother f'ers poked out of one of the calyx. i'm going to take those down tonight. I think the heat this late in flower was too much for them. the rest seemed ok. i have another SC pheno in the room atm and a og as well.
The og looks just about done but most poeple say og is a solid 10 weeker. I guess its possible that I got a cut of something that flowers earlier?

and I was also lowering the temp to simulate autumn. is this not necessary? ie: higher in early weeks and gets lower in later weeks. not too low I don't want to lock out any nuts

ive never heard about the temp vs potency thing, i know i run 82-84 consistantly at lights on with co2 and any of my many strains have been called some of the best ever smoked by some long time smokers. at that low temp the plant isnt really able to utilize the added co2 to its abilities, and simulating fall just adds more stuff to worry about. consistency is key to indoor growing. There's evidence to suggest temps in the 90's are ideal for high CO2 levels, but you have other potential issues with temperatures that high - so it's not really suggested. You'll be fine, just get it back online. I'd set your temps for around 82 and not stress. 75 is too low.

If you're running a res and it suffered from the temps I'd probably toss some H2O2 in it just in case any microlife decided conditions were right to start multiplying.

luckily my res is in the other room and stays around 68-70. =)

You're running co2, everythings cool.........no pun intended.......what superstoner said, the plant uses the co2 easier at warmer temps.GL.

Kiss it!! that what my dad always used to say. i love it! i'll raise my temps. it'll probably cut down on a/c use anyways. and since it sounds like i've been wasting my co2 up until now. then i'll be saving on co2 cost as well. lol

At the higher temps, the co2 in the air starts declining because the air molecules are bigger, because the atoms are expanded, reducing the amount of co2 naturally occurring in the air, which will cause a non-co2 plant to suffer. The higher temps can be endured if the correct co2 is added. The plant naturally wants to be in the warmer climate, but without the proper breathing for the plant, it's not suggested.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is the impression I'm under.

i'm not saying this is fact. but here is just one place i've heard about the potency thing.
