Grow Room HELP PLEASE

Hi Guys and Gals,

First off, I just want to thank you for taking the time to try and help me. Okay, so I am trying to build veg grow room in a rubbermaid big max storage shed. The shed is 7x7x7 and it is made up of (unfortunately) plastic. I provided a link down near the bottom of this page of the shed. So, my question is, do you think I will be fine using this room? One concern of mine of course is the HEAT in the SUMMER, but I think I can take the plants out of the shed in extreme heat and leave them outdoors in my backyard during that time. i don't have to worry about cold because my property rarely dips below 50 degrees in the winter. So, can you guys think of any other issues I might face? I attached a photo of the shed and I installed 3 fans, 1 dehumidifier, and tonight the carbon filter, inline fan, and exhaust are going in. I have four big holes in the roof of the shed. I can close them or open the holes at anytime. I just DO NOT wanna get Powder Mildew and I want a nice room. Please give me some advice if you have any, thank you

Man oh man. How hot does it get? Have you ever been in a shed in the summer without the heat from the lights and dehumidifier? You won’t be able to even come close to ambient temps. And your temp swings will be massive in the cooler months. You can run lights at night to help. And as much ventilation you will have to run when it’s just warm out will pretty much defeat the dehumidifier. You won’t be able to run hid except maybe in the winter. Might get away with led and a portable ac. Idk tho maybe it will work. I couldn’t get away with it where I’m at not even close.

I plan to use this shed when the temperatures are under 75 degrees. If they exceed 75 then the plants will go in my bathroom or outdoors i was thinking. Idk

Are you doing lights on at night? I would. Also if there is a way to put the shed where it’s mostly shaded during the heat of the day. I just really think you are going to have issues and moving plants around from shed to outside to bathroom is going to be a pain. You could also put a temp shutoff on your lights and dehumidifier if you use one. And have the exshaust on a controller.

I was looking at air conditioners. This is the deal. My mom comes over 2 times a week and hates weed. She knows what i am doing but asks it to be out of the house the two days she is there a week. So i wanted to keep the girls in the shed for 2 days and then keep them in my house the other 5 days. I know that sounds stupid but i have to make it work. I bought a dehumidifier and will buy and ac in the next month or two. I think i can get away without the ac until mid june

Will do, when the temps rise. I will buy a portable next month most likely.
You have a cool tube by the look of the picture?
Get an inline fan ducted to it. Set the duct sucking from outside and blowing straight back outside.
Have a separate inline fan connected to your carbon filter and allow that to exchange the air in there. Make sure its big enough to be more than needed and use a speed controller, preferably with a thermostat to control the speed.
The fan connected to cool tube comes on when lights come on. The other fan connected to the carbon filter is on 24 hours a day.

I cant see the picture of the outside of the shed, its a dead link. If its black plastic then find the appropriate spray paint for the plastic and paint it white to reflect the sun in the hot days.

The outside of the shed is a light beige color. Like a very light brown/white. I am hooking my inline fan up to the light this weekend. The Duct is arriving today so just waiting on that to install the inline fan to it. I will for sure make the duct suck from outdoors and bring the air from out there indoors and through the light to cool it down.

Where can I get a controller for the inline fan ac and dehumidifier? I am new to this part. And thank you for the help

Not sure if this applies but.

My little shed glows at night.
That means light also leaks inside.

I run my lights at night until 1am
That way at lights out no sun is coming in. But like i said my shed glows. If security was a concern i would have to address it

For your particular needs I would look for an Eberle HYG-E 7001.
You need to order the backplate it plugs into also Just look up on the datasheet.
It is an awesome controller It can run a humidifier, dehumidifier heater and cooler for the money some hygrostats go for.
