Grow Room Design (Pics)

Once they sprout I would move them within an inch of the bulb so that they don't stretch for the light and fall over. Just trying to help.

Were the seeds germinated? If so, it should take about two to three days and if not I'm not too sure because I have never planted a seed like that. Prob around four or five days without germination and two to three without.

Yeah this is the hardest part haha, do you know what type of lighting schedule you are going with for the veg stage?

To be honest I'm not totally sure. I figured i'de run it for 24 right now. But, I'm doing so much reading and shit that it seems like everyone has different schedules. What do you think?

I usually start off my seedlings on 24/0 but after a few days to a week I put them 18/6 to promote root development. And as a plus it is a little less on the electricity bill too.

Thanks a lot man, you don't know how much this advice is going to help. After reading a lot of post on this forums, me and my friend have decided to go with cfl's. Next friday we'll go buy the fixtures and bulbs. We went to walmart earlier when we got the flouro tube and didn't see any clf fixtures. Do you know ball part what they go for at ace's or home depot?

You can get three or four bulb vanity fixtures for around twenty dollars. To double the amount of bulbs you can get Y-splitters for around $1.50 each. For veg get 6500K bulbs and for flowering get 2700K bulbs. Look for higher wattages such as 42 watt. You will also need a grounded extension cord to wire the fixture to make it plug in. With all that you can get a fixture that holds from 6 to 8 bulbs for around 40 dollars in all.

I'll use that advice. When I get paid next week hopefully we can get the new lights and the inline fans.

Would that mean use the "Swirly white" screw in bulbs?

Yup that is what I am talking about. Those swirly bulbs are called CFL's. If you have a three light vanity fixture with Y-splitters and 6 CFL's you are sure to grow some nice bud. Just make sure you have proper ventilation and the plants are within an inch of the bulbs.

So you would say that 6 clf's for roughly 4-6 plants would be ok? And when I want to flower just get stronger bulbs?

I wouldn't go as far as saying 4-6 plants... I have two plants going right now with 7 CFL's and a 70 watt HPS and they are doing great two weeks into flowering. For 4-6 plants I would get 2 vanity fixtures that can hold 6 bulbs each, you should be set if you do that. The only problem is that you need to control heat with that many CFL's.

I will be bringing in on the average 75 degree air from the intake once I get that in. Do you think my intake and out take would keep it relatively decent temp. wise?

Well if you mount your lights at the top and make it so the plants have to be raised up and down toward the light you should be good. If you have one or two outtakes at the top near the lights you should be good. You should have two outtakes at the top and one or two intakes at the bottom. And I would suggest a fan in the cab to help move air around.

Ok. We were thinking about just having one on each side. (right and left) They will be pretty beastly fans so you dont think it will take out too much heat right above the lights? And about the one on the bottom. Can it be on the side? Just all the way at the bottom on the left side.
