Grow room design help

Hi fellow growers,

bongsmilie

I have had 3 successful grows of AK48, White Widow, Black Domina and Somango all thanks to you guys.
here are some pictures of my previous grows.

I was growing under a 400 watt HPS, inside a make shift cabinet. These grows were successful all because of you guys.

Well, I could not grow last six months but things are looking positive now. I have moved into a new apartment
( 2 bedroom) and can spare the smaller bedroom for a grow. I am designing the space as of now and should start as it gets done.

I have got a 8x10 foot room with an attached bathroom that is 5x4 foot. I have also got my hands on a gorilla grow tent that is 5x5x7 foot. The room has a mini split already installed and there is a window at the far end of the bathroom. I am attaching a rough plan of what i plan to do with the space. I want to run a 600watt HPS for flower in the tent and 4 foot t5 for veg and clones.

Please have a look and tell me if it is going to work.

For flower tent m planning to use a CAP ebb and grow system, a 2x3 foot flood table for veg and ez clone for clones. I have ordered Super silver haze, Bubba Kush and Strawberry Haze for next grow.

Hope I am able to convey my thoughts effectively, waiting your replies. Thank you!

Peace!

:peace:

P.S. : Temps here are 40 deg C day time and 32 deg C night ( Summer); 18 deg C day time and 10 deg C night time ( winter).

That's cool, I see you're going to be exhausting air out out the window, where are you going to intake air from?

I've grown in an apartment before like this, I recommend laying plastic on the floor of the whole room, nutrients can leave pretty bad stains.

thanks for your reply dear, intake would be from within the room itself. The room would be running a mini split air conditioner at around 18 degC.

But does the room have an intake? The mini split will just recirculate the air that's already in the room, if you dont have an intake into the room, you will build up negative pressure. Why don't you not exhaust outside and run cO2? The AC should keep your temps and humidity in a good range

might do that, but co2 feels like an overkill and too much work right now. Probably would have to make an intake. What would be the best way to do it while running the air con?

Are you renting? If not, you could go through a wall, if you are you may just have to leave the door open a little.

2x10" fans is a lot of airflow, how often you going to exhaust the room?

i plan on upgrading to a 1000 watt or 2 600 watts on the long run, also want to have more room in terms of CFM so that i can run my fans at a lower speed. Had a lot of issue with the heat earlier, temps running well in higher 30 deg C. don't want to take any chances.

Also, i plan on using the air con only when necessary to combat the heat. ( don't want to run the electricity cost very high ).

hey blackhawk

i just finished a grow last year (which was my last grow as i've been traveling a lot) in a 100 square foot room. 6 x 400w HPS in a very very fucking humid environment. pulled off 300-400g/bulb. vegged for 40 days. 12 days under cfl, then vertical scrog around each hps bulb. organic soil mix. this was an inefficient grow in my opinion due to the veg time. If i had taken more time to set it up to increase yield, reduce turnaround time, and not compromise on quality (although I'd have to go chemical) I would have built a vertical hydro with pvc with 2 tiers, or at least an extra shelf on top for an extra tier of pots, and then grow with 1 week cfl veg, 1 week hps veg, and flower. single cola growth from each plant, trim all auxiliaries.

what you may be surprised about is that it's going to make some noise. the fan is going to be audible. and unless your door to the room is 100% airtight, then you will be able to feel air going into the room when you're outside the door. IF that's not a problem, then you don't need an air intake, because the air will get sucked in through the gaps in the doorway. If you need air intake, then your best bet is to:
1) replace the windows in the room with plywood
2) drill a hole to mount the exhaust fan and mount it
3) connect the exhaust fan to a 6' long pvc pipe, which needs to be suspended from the ceiling by means of hook and chain
4) at the entry of the pvc pipe, place an ozone generator of the desired size. this can either be suspended as well or held in place in the pvc pipe if it's small enough. aim the ozone generator at the exhaust fan, and all the ozone will neutralize all the odors from the room and exhaust out scent-free air.

also do check your electrical wiring. I'd advise you to have no less than 10mm wires running throughout any of the paths from the bedroom to the mains. indian wires are not of the same quality as the ones manufactured abroad.

How is the electricity situation there? Over here the electricity is erratic, and is bound to go off every once in a while, which created a lot of problems for me. Success of any indoor grow depends on having reliable power.

I also agree with Elchupa about giving some thought to your Electricals considering you will be running a lot of things.

Btw. which lights do you plan to use exactly? I mean is it sourced locally or not? And what kind of hoods?

Any update on the nutes?

I am thnking about starting another hempy as as soon as the temperature comes down to 30's. Found out about a very reasonable hydro nutes supplier, will be trying him out.

All the best with your grow!

hi guys, so after some more planning my room is taking some shape. I set up my tent. looks beautiful. I was first planning to order a CAP ebb n flow system but it is costing a lot to get it shipped here. So I guess I would be building my own irrigation system. I think I would use a mixture of coco, perlite and hydroton and do a top feed to drain system. I have attached a diagram in order to make it more clear.
gplan irrigation.jpg
I have got all the supplies ready. would start building it later next week. I have got 4 200 litre containers. 2 100 litre containers. 1 inch tubing and half inch tubing. I plan to use 2 reservoirs for RO water and two for nutrient solution, the smaller two for drain. I also got 2 100GPH pumps and some air stones and pumps.

What do you guys think?

i am planning to attach a 1 inch tube and then further attach it to a closed loop of 1/2 inch from which i would run 1/4 inch tubes to pots.

I have bought 20 litre pots for flower and 10 litre for veg.

do you guys think this will work? need some advise before i start on it. thank you :)

Good to see a younger grow scene in India. Looks ok Blackhawk, but why do u need 3tanks per system? Keep one reservoir per system. A simple ebb and flow would cost less to setup. U can also go bubble buckets. I was doing a aeroponic system (94 plants flowering in a closet) back in Cali before moving to India. looking to do a organic grow soon. Lmk if u need help, I've built many clones and aero/hydro setups in the past.
