Greetings ... I am seeking some advice.. I am soon to obtain two of these 2x2 Grow rooms:
DR-60 Dark Room

I want to use one of the tents to house a few plants in the Vegetative state and one tent to house a few of them in the Flowering state, So that I can cultivate 2-3 plants per month and have a steady cycle of plants ready to cultivate every month.

I have started looking into lighting, and I am seeing recommendationsof this amount of volume of using 150-250 Watts per tent, I of course want to maximize my yield, so is putting 3 plants @ 250 Watts realistic in this situation?

I would put this bulb in the Veg Tent:
[Hortilux Blue Daylight Metal Halide - 250W - MT250D/HOR/HTL 901735]

And this bulb in the Flowering Tent:

[Hortilux 250W Super HPS Enhanced Spectrum Bulb]

I am going to purchase some clones here within the next couple weeks, if You were me, and you were trying to maximize your amount of plants and yield, yet you wanted a steady stream of plants ready for harvest each month, what would you do? Would you buy Two MH bulbs and stick three 1 week old clones in each tent, let one batch grow to veg state after 4 weeks and then just switch one of the tents to HPS on a 12/12 cycle to start flowering while the other tent remains in Veg for an additional month?

What would happen if I kept my plants in veg state for 2 months instead of the usual one? What would your method be if you were in my shoes?

I want to maximize the amount of plants yet keep enough room for each individual plant to not only grow, but thrive by producing big beautiful buds, what would YOU do?

Thanks in advance

I would def go with two 400w, one HPS and one MH setup. Put the hoods inline with a 4 inch fan and pull the heat from the hoods so your tents dont get too hot. I use a 6 inch and 8 inch on bigger lights, not sure about smaller lights. Also I would make sure they have they flanges so you could easily connect your duct. I seal my hoods carefully with mylar type tape. I think they may have sealed hoods now, I am not sure. If your gonna do it, mind as well do it right. Over a few harvests, look into the world of CO2. You should have some extra cash kickin around and some experience.

I actually would go with 1 MH and 2 HPS with two separate rooms if you want consistent bud, its a few extra bucks, and space. Veg in MH for 4 weeks to 5 weeks depending on strain(s) n flower time. So shit that finishes in 9 weeks. All plants r the same strain and pheno. I would veg my clones under my MH for 4 1/2 weeks, then move them into the first HPS room for flower, then get my other rooted clones under that MH again and work them for 4 1/2 weeks n move them to your second HPS room. Then keep your cycle going. I would then make sure I have a 6 in fan to pull the heat from all those lights.

I assume its easy for your to obtain clones, and I assume buying clones will become expensive over time. I would suggest making some sort of room for a mother plant and learn how to take clones and manage that accordingly. Free clones. You can simply make an aeroponic cloner out of cheap supplies and you have an efficient system.

Genetics and phenotype is the only answer to how long your should veg IMO. Basically you just need grow out your shit. It would be tough to put 3 fat indica's in there for too long as some tend to get real bushy, and some sativas will triple in height when you flower but dont branch out so much. I think with the lower watt lights your better off doing quick harvests like SOG, as the light doesn't penetrate below the canopy like a 1000w would. Just a suggestion.

I never used those light/ballast combos, but the ballast gives off a lot of heat, usually you keep your ballast out of your grow room, if possible.
