Hey RIU,

So we finally got the cabinet built and ready, bulbs ordered, and seeds on the way. Now I have been looking around my area and can only seem to find 0-0-0 seed starter soil because apparently gardening stuff doesnt get put out till the end of feb.

Now is this no big deal and i just need to make sure I have a good amount of nutes in with my feedings? or should I hunt down something else?

I would look around see if you cant get some fox farm ocean forest soil. i think your best bet would to look online for the nearest dedicated grow store and do that.

In addition to what DD said, a bag of seed starter soil will be useful when you get your seeds.

When looking for soil, call around asking for both bags and bulk potting soil, as well as both soil mixes and the constituent parts to mix it yourself. Seed starter soil, for example, is usually just some mixture of peat moss, vermiculite and/or perlite, each of which can be purchased separately in most areas.

By the way, seedlings don't need food. Hence the 0-0-0 readings. Seedlings can go a few weeks n their own reserves. Then it would get better soil and food

From my experience I would recommend Roots Organic over Fox Farm every day but Fox Farm is definitely NOT bad.

Ya doesnt look like we can get fox farm here in Canadia, I guess i might have to lay down some bribe money and get soil a few weeks before their set to put it out. Thanks for the input all.
