NOOB ? Can someone explain the difference between the GROW JOURNAL and the GROW JOURNAL DISCUSSION?

one is YOUR journal (where only you should post) the other is the discussion of what YOU have posted in your journal
- but it never plays out this way. most people post anywhere

Just wanted to make sure I had a good idea of the protocols. I noticed that people would say that it was alright for others to “Comment” in their journals but then post the same journal in the “Discussions” boards too. Thanks again +rep for the reply.
