Grow Checklist.. What am I missing? Need Bulk Substrate Suggestion

Whatever you are colonizing on (Popcorn,WBS,coffe or the pf tek) has to become 100% colonized the jar has to be completly white...then wait a week this makes sure the mycelium digest all nutrients ...when exposed to new nutrients(substrate) it will explode in growth growing 5-8 times quickr........IF i want a quick run i spawn to feild capacity vermiculite strait thats been patuerized......no nutes in it the mycelium just chases the water.....case w/ verm(IMO peat contaminates to easy)....It actually runs pretty quick that way ..........IMO i do not use coir it contams to easy ...lol ...you have to remember you are creating an ideal environment for a fungus(thus other fungus like it) 50/50 manure (blackkow/vermiculite) as far as the ratio it depends how long you wanna wait....the more popcorn/wbs...in the pan with poo the faster ...smaller ratios take longer to colonize ...a light lyer verm on bottom wbs all across light layer 50/50 mix on top of that light layer of verm on that

if you wait to long its no problem either.... psilocybin will grow in the dark had a whole pan do it to me when i wnt out of town once lol
the BIGGEST pinning factor that matters is that the nutrients are consumed

Vermiculite and then the nutrient layer with the added spawn and followed finally by a casing layer of vermiculite after the rest is spawned?

Keep in the dark until adding the casing layer..

after adding the casing layer add light and take off the lid. mist 3-4 times per day on the sides of the containers to keep humidity up?

All at once....verm(1/8 inch thick) wbs/poo (1/4 thick) verm(1/8 in thick) ...mist top layer....into closet cover in foil.....day or to later pull out mist again ...repeat until around 25% or so of top layer verm is collonized by MYC ....then into tub.....I cannot put enough emphasise on light misting's....once in tub 80-90% humidity is sufficient will give you first flush ....after this rotate your mushies off do not cut...scrape top layer with sterilized fork...put back in closet ...repeat process... on a good run you can get 3-4 flushes this way.... depending on pan size and genetics you can expect ounce of shrooms roughly...2nd flush is always the best IMO

When your done with GT's you should give PES blue hawiians a try very good visuals and extremely clean time.....I ate so many GT's once that i seriously thought I was jim morrison reincarnated sitting in a jacuzzi tub while i sang "This is the end" to myself...lol..latter i walked outside into my back yard naked and shook my weiner at my 70 year old neighbor...:shock: Ahhh memories

I will defintely be picking up some of those dubtubs after work and return this giant tote. I still start with 6 tubs (3 dubtubs) and go from there.. I only have the 6 qt pressure cooker.. might have to do a couple batches of PC for each step but as long as I keep things bagged, sealed and such shouldn't be an issue with contamination.. The more frequent smaller batches might not take quite as long to cool off and such.. Plus with the digital PC i can cook in the bathroom or bedroom rather than just in the kitchen where all my neighbors can watch me canning food a couple times a week.. that wouldn't be weird.. in june lol

Have you thought about making Liquid cultures? you could probably get a couple hundred gt jars goin that way? Plus they shave off ALOT of time and make it harder for contams to get a hold on your jars.....IME any seeded jars(pop,wbs,rye) grow way way better that way... I ran into a lot of problems with the jars stalling out just injecting them with straight spores

Recipe ....1/2 tsp Light karo syrup...3/4 the way filled up jar with tap water...pc it...kewl it... inject it 1/4 to 1/2 cc spore solution sit in closet three days latta stir it repeat till you have nice myc cloud

So 1/8 inch vermiculite. 1/4 inch cow poo/vermiculite.. Mix in the jarred spawn. then put a thin layer of 1/8 inch vermiculite over top. mist and cover with foil so it is lightproof and mostly airtight except for the couple microspore tape covering 2 -3 small holes in the tinfoil.

Mist every 1-2 days lightly until you see about 1/4 of the top layer is full of spawn.. Then replace the foil with the other tub.. and give a small amount of light..
Do i continue to mist every 1-2 days?

I havent had much time to do much research... I'm really not looking to make a ton of mushrooms.. I would be happy with like 3 ounces to last me until next year. I just can't find them in the area I live in and I think it would be fun to make a few small batches while the local humidity is high for a couple months. (50% relative humidity) and it rains about once a week or so which get the humidity up to about 70% indoors for a day or so

I will take the time to look into the liquid cultures tho thanks for the heads up.. still gotta look into making spore prints too.

Once, you remove foil and put in tub ...mist sides of tub like you said...once you see the fruiting bodies f the mushies (pins ) start discontinue misting the casing only the side.....BTW the cooler the temp....78-80 denser the mushrooms...warmer the temp..the smaller and skinnier the mushrooms

You might want to check them out ....i been growing shrooms since I was 16-17 im now 28 ....and IME it can either be A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME or take a substantial time for straight spore solution to run through any seed. Its really only good for the pf tek to inject straight solution.....1/2cup BRF(brown rice flour)1/4 cup vermiculit 1/4cup water per jar

Good to know.. I should probably get a few more tempurater/humidity gauges to measure a few spots around the house to find good spawning/fruiting areas..

Don't go shaking your weiner to the neighbors and get in trouble before then.

HEEYYYY!!!!! I meant to tell you earlier you made a comment about doin this in your bathroom...NO NO NO .thats MOLD and MILDEW heaven....Stay away from the bathroom in the process. FYI

Nutrients are needed same as weed no nutes no grow. that is why using manure will yield the most shrooms I also believe they have more kick but that is opinion really to me it is kind of like cooking once you got the basics down no reason to stress also like weed there are more ways to get to your goal than you can shake a stick at
By the way GT is one of my faves too always a happy trip if you want a balls to the wall trip get some wikidzonez one shrooms ant the walls start breathing so cool:clap:
