grow cabinet: air in vs. air out

howdy folks, i was wondering if you could give me some advice on my cabinet (which is approx 2'x3'x6') ...

i plan on having a 6" carbon scrubber rated at over 400 CFM vented out, mounted about a foot from the top of the cab and the vent exiting the top. and 3 muffin fans rated at 110 CFM each, one on the lower right, left, and rear walls of the cabinet. placed about 2.5 feet from the bottom. hopefully they will act to strengthen my plants as well as bring air in.

so my question is this...

is my ratio of air in : air out okay? i understand that it is better to have more air going out than comming in, but is 100 CFM too much of a gap?

also: i will have a fan cooling my 400 w mh/hps and possibly another placed on my plants if my intake vents do not perform as expected.

thanks a lot for any help, it is always appreciated.

I think i can help - you don't need any intake fans at all - especially with a 400 CFM fan exhausting only 36 cubic feet of space. Make sure you have several passive intake holes that the total is larger than the hole for the fan. Another words, if you are using a 6" exhaust hole, make sure you have three or four 3" intake holes. Believe me - with that size fan running, you'll have to use some muscle just to open your door! i would be afraid intake fans would actually hinder air movement in this case - though i wouldn't worry about creating a vacuum.

so maybe what you could do is use intake fans to blow directly on your plants (great idea btw) and put in an extra one or two passive (no fan) intake holes just to make sure the air is really flowing.

you sure won't have to worry about CO2 or fresh air - that's for sure (and a very good thing).
