Grow bench, how tall?

I am going to build a bench to veg on. The bench will be 8' wide by 3' deep. The surface will have a slight slope from back to front to drain water from soil pots. Water will be collecting in some sort of gutter system. The ceilings are 9' tall. I'm going to use LED lighting.

How tall should I make the bench?

My first inclination was 3' tall, which is about what a normal counter top would be. However, I would love to hear what you all's thoughts are.

Need a little more info before i can make a recommendation

1 What Led lights are you using

2 are you trying to stretch your plants a little to make scroging easier

3 are you growing from clones or do you need this to be seedling friendly

I'm sure i will have more questions but this is a good start can you post any pictures of the area ?

2. Not at this time, however, I am definitely interested in attempting SRCoG at some point.

if lighting is the issue i would focus more on bring the light down to the plant with adjustable hangers and make the bench at the most comfortable height for yourself to work on the plants. and with your clones they should have no issues taking the LEDs output so you are good to go on that.
