The potted seem to need more water/attention. The plants in ground grow well.
they do grow good in the ground but depends where you are, pots would be easier because you can move them if there is an emergency or someone has found ur crop also if you spot isnt getting good enough sunlight you can move them where the light it better but if your not worried about anyone finding your plants and have a choice spot id say put them in the ground, seeing as this is there natural place to grow

i also think that its a bit harder to control the nutes and other aspects when planting in the ground. I think your able to control things much more with the soil in a pot. Also like Newbie G said, if u need to quickly get rid of them(and that chance is alot greater outside than inside), and dont want to have to kill em, pots are the the way to go. But then again, everyone has their way and wat works for one person doesnt always work for another. I respect all ways of growin the sweet herb to be honest with ya.
peace easy everyone

ya dig big holes with good dirt, or find huge ass pots, the more places for the roots to go the better, but id for sure say in the ground

If your having a really hard time deciding which is the best for you have a go at both the wost that could happen is you might have to kill a few nice plants :(

Thanks for your info guys! Ill prolly dig a hole then. i grow inside during winter, but its to hot in the summer to grow inside. i have no where else to put them outside and not too worried about thieves just cops in which case they will die either way. thanks again!

I asked this same question last June. I had some plants growing in a greenhouse in 3gal pots. After I moved them into the ground they doubled in size. Put them in the ground. Leave at least 4' between each plant. I used some soil I got at Home DePot. Outdoor plants get BIG.

The first was in June, the second ,
was harvested in Sept.

If the soil is nice in your area with no rocks etc dig some big ass holes and mix amendments with the virgin soil. If your soil is shit i say go with grow bags, there ridiculously cheap and disposable. Just dig a hole and slap the grow bag in there and with a nice soil you'll be scraight.

I'm not the most experienced grower, but I know one thing. The goal of every indoor grower is to best IMITATE the outdoor environment. Everything we do as gardeners is our best effort to imitate mother nature. The only downside is in cases where your outside environment isn't perfect. Like living in a tropical region where the ground is more sand than anything. If your region doesn't have really good soil... Dig a big fuckin' hole, and fill it with Fox Farm Ocean Forest!
I think, in the ground.
