there were be variance among all cheap hygrometers. just note the difference. 2% really isn't that big of a deal. if it was like 5%+/- then i'd be concerned and ship it back. i bought one of those inkbird ones i told you about because my old hygrometer went to shit after using it in my mushroom fruiting chamber... the inkbird works amazing! only 11$ :)
OK finally got us starting on a fresh page,

I forgot about that thing! I really want something more reliable, bc in would like to do a long term cure!

I've been talking with a buddy for some time now about squishing! it's called rosin right? I was hoping maybe you could help me out a Lil bit! I have screen shots of all the info for Temps, pressure, and how long!

but the info I can't seem to find, is 1 what kinda press is worth the money? build one or buy the 2 grand one! I can't find good info on that at all!

and 2, do I completely dry the bud and cure it before squishing, just dry it for maybe 7 days and squish, maybe dry even less! I know it has to dried at least a Lil bit, if not I can imagine how much water would run out the thing!
I know a little about Rosin, and have been pressing for a couple years now. Best bang for the buck is to build your own press. I went with a Dake B-10 and 3"x7" caged plates from DabPress. With that setup, you can squish anywhere from a single gram to a half ounce (in a filter bag for the larger amounts) I started doing 1/8ths without using a bag, just pre-pressing the puck in the middle of a Scotch Tape roll, then pressing in parchment.

You'll want your bud at around 60% humidity, do not grind it, but break up the larger buds and take out stems. Press around 200 F for 2-3 minutes.

I love it, and call it cannabis caviar for my non-rosin acquainted friends. If you are anywhere near Denver, I'd be happy to let you come over and check it out and ask more questions in person.

I don't personally care for rosin, but I will have tons and tons of larf and trim, plus plants that I don't care for, and I'm just gunnar squish then, or run bho! I gotta do something with all this shit!

so I'll pretty much be doing everything at once or at least in the same day, I'm not looking for anything portable!

when you say I need my bud at around 60% I'm assuming u mean after its dried and jarred up, then sits at 60% right?

also any chance u have a link to where u got the stuff to build yours? my buddy says he has a jack or something we can use, I'm not looking to the best product in the world, just something that will move itself! as long as it doesn't look like shit I'll have no problem making it move!

also does this need to be purged like they do with regular wax?

Yes sir - some folks squish after hanging for 2-3 days. I tried it with my last harvest, and it was still too wet. Sizzled in my nail. Some of the best Rosin I've made has been from 6 month cured bud. I use 62% Bovedas in all my jars.

As I understand it, the oil needs a little moisture to ride out of the plates during the press, otherwise it just gets trapped in the plant matter. Too dry=little to no return Too wet=sizzle and sappy rosin that's hard to work with.

I really like that you posted a picture of your recipe because it is a big help to people like myself who is starting to get in to organic growing, I purchased some expensive landrace seeds and I plan on growing them organically so good luck and thanks!

No need to purge - as soon as it's collected off the parchment, it's ready to dab.

I bought the Dake off eBay, and the DabPress plates off Amazon - Dabpress is quickly becoming the DIY choice for most folks getting into this from what I've read. I went with the Dake instead of a HF press solely due to their warranty. Actually had to use it just a couple months after purchase. The return spring inside the piston broke and my press wouldn't retract after releasing pressure. One call to Dake CS Monday morning, and a new piston was on it's way to me at no charge. It's made in China just like the HF press, just better after sale support in my book.

Returns are strain and grower ability dependent of course. I've been getting low to mid 20's returns on some GG#4 I cropped last fall. Some sativa dom plants will return 10% or less - it's all in what's on the plant before it goes between the plates.

I'm not too worried about yeilds, I will be using all extras anyway, like trim, larf, shit plants I don't want to trim or have the time too! I'm going to save a good qp of trim for my edibles, then squish the rest to get rid of it!

thanks for the info man I appreciate that!

almost finished building that dam scrog! I need to find an easier way! it takes me days to build a sip, get it set up, string the scrog, get that hooked up, and the dam ladies still aren't in their sip!

granted I'm lazy and can't do a whole lot at a time but still! i need to start looking for really good 3"X 3" screen instead of having to string this shit up!

Stuided absorbed and studied some more . I am gonna make a sip of my own to test out as I've always been fond of soil but over years had to go dwc as my plants do way better dwc than straight soil mix grows. But I have found that soil does have a more natural and other positive benefits than dwc. So thanks for saying sip in heisenbeans thread so damn much lol . I'm gonna run one like that . will defiantly keep ya posted here on that one when its going and hopefully if I have a question or two you'll have them answers. Have a good day all in this here thread.

Yeah man no matter what they wanna call it the last pack of seeds at the end of an F5 or 6 line those seeds are still F1s from 2 parents.
All seeds are technically F1s of 2 parents. Sure someone might have selected but at the end of the day the seeds you get in your hands are still f1s from 2 parents
Man you know your stuff, I'm glad dude got you Rollin into him. I got to learn some good shit while your letting him have it. Lmfao!!! Fucking awesomesauce!
