No it's an ar15. The lower is .556 but the barrel is .223 wylde, was reading up and apparantly the .223 normally can't fire 556, but the 223 wylde can fire both but highly increased accuracy over just a normal 556 barrel

I used to be big gun nut, but I kind of lost it after my deployment... Anyways, here is what I'm working on today. I started laying out the poles yesterday and ran out, so my wife went and bought me some more for today. I'm thinking that I'll do 3x poles each and make a triangle instead of a square. The price of these poles add up quick when you buy 30...
Here is an assassin bug just hanging out. I guess that it's a good thing that he is hungry, it means that my garden isn't infested lol...

My Earthboxes are supposed to be 2cuft including the 2gal rez, which is 7.48gal per cuft. They just seem too small and they would dry out way too fast. I plan on making the switch soon, but I had to spend some money on my outdoor plants first. The 8ft poles took away my indoor SIP money. I have a feeling that they will pay for themselves though. I'm trying to get a greenhouse on my property by winter time.

I cut the white widow I wanted to give an extra week to down, repositioned the SIP to be centered in the tent, and switched the light cycle back to 18/6 to let her reveg for a few weeks to fill the net

If you already have the em1, kashi, and soil, you can get started for under 30 bucks man. Give or take. And obviously theres some shortcuts and cheaper ways you can go about making the sip. My original design with the PVC would be a bit cheaper, and it still works amazing and gives great results, just not quite as good as the new one. And the air stone set up isnt a must. Granted I've gotten a bit better results by using the new design and the air stones, but just to try it out and see if it's right for you go the cheap way man. Shit I can even send you a small sandwich baggy of some kashi if you need, granted you will still have to buy some but it would atleast get you started.

Nothing wrong with revegging, but just so you know, If you planned to flip flower, just for the stretch to take advantage of the fast growth, that's actually not beneficial, bc it will take you atleast 2 weeks to revert back to veg, and in that time you wont get very much growth, so basically bottom line, your better off never revegging unless you have to. Just fyi.

I'll take the wasted 2 weeks if it fills the net out. Like you said, no reason not to fill the tent with the amount of soil I have in there.
From a time aspect, it might not give me any bonus, but overall yield will end up bigger/better. Plus, I've been wanting to experiment with reveg.. if I'm gonna use my entire tent for 1 plant, I'll have to monster crop in order to keep my phenos alive, so I want to see how that whole process will work, just on an already established plant.
Either way, I'll be able to fill my screen and produce a larger harvest at the end of the day. By my estimates, October 1st will be about the time I harvest this one... but I'll add some pics every few weeks so u guys can see what I got going

I appreciate it. I'm already locked into these Earthboxes for one more run. I just won't let them get so big this time. After this harvest, I should be able to buy whatever I need. It's just that my outdoor garden needed more money than anticipated. I also had to hire my nephew to come and help. The real problem was that I bought clones from a local dispensary and my friends didn't want my weed, so that is my real bind. I had to start popping my own seed packs again. Which reminds me, I just spent $550 on seeds this month. Totally forgot, that's where my money went lol. My favorite seed shop had a buy one get one free deal on Bodhi seeds, couldn't pass it up. It was like $30 per seed pack and I got a couple years supply. I'm going to find some killer genetics though. I'll get into these bigger SIPs too. I have a HomeDepot credit card too and I have a $0 balance right now, so I'm good. I could probably even transplant out of these earthboxes if I wanted to.

I haven't read and caught up completely in this for a while but someone here was mentioning soil mites in their SIP grow.
I've had them as well. They didn't stress the plant but I noticed them after the first couple of EM-1fills, then they were everywhere and I mean everywhere they eventually settle but from what I saw they aren't bad and didn't affect my grow in anyway .

Yea even I still get the from time to time, you can easily stay on top of them by placing a yellow sticky trap by the stalk of the plant where they have access to get in and out, this will just about eliminate anyone's concern or problem with them. It has for me for sure.

So with your newest SIP the one where you use vermiculite as the wick. How do you keep the soil and verm separate? Like when your finished with a grow how do you separate and reamend the soil? Eventually you would run out of organic material right? Maybe im just missing something here. Love the idea of creating a super low maintenance grow. Defiantly going this route next time

Just shovel it out, and then dont mess with the very bottom, a small layer staying down there isnt going to hurt anything

It's been 3 weeks since I reverted my Ayuhuasca Purple from flower, back to veg. Thought I'd update you guys, and share my thoughts/pics of the growth.
The pic below, shows how the new growth forms. Individual calyxs, which are normally grouped tightly together to form the buds, are expanding/growing away from each other on their own small stems. From inside of the calyx, a new growth tip forms and pushes out.
From this point, growth is fairly straight forward. The new growth tip elongates, leaves form, and the vegetative process is in full swing.
It took about 2 full weeks to see the beginning signs of vegetative growth (oddly shaped leaves growing out of the buds, buds starting to "unpack"). By week 3 (pictures below) growth tips are fully formed. Depending on bud orientation, auxins form single or multiple new growth tips from single colas.
New growth is heavily dependent on light exposure. While buds that receive full light exposure produce new growth tips. Buds lower down, that are shaded out, have not (yet?).
Overall, plant growth is extremely healthy. Will likely give her 1 more week under a 20/4 light cycle, before putting her back into flower, and giving her a full ~10weeks to do her thing.
