Okay to start off I had very good Outdoor season last year still actually smoking and trimming. So I went and purchased some new toys to grow with. Greenhouses will be 7'H by 6'W by 8'L two. Will be using some prefabbed raised beds that are 4' by 4' three of them. These will be placed in a 16' W by 20 ' L space. If you look at my grow last year I got a LB or more off all six plants. This year going for more will add some strains and keep some the same. The Dream Queen defintely will go again. Will probably run a few more but defintely the DQ for now. I have some seeds I made last year that have popped as we speak a DJ short bb male x a og kush female. So we will see also have some seeds just put in dirt yesterday. They are pineapple express from Botanical seeds and Milf from Mother chucker seeds. Will also be running a bean that says it flowers in 50 days cant wait to see this plant called Speedway. Well if you got any questions or comments let me know all materials purchased at Lowes and HD. Hope everyone had a great Christmas and a Happy New Year. Time to grow now.Dirrtyd

Mushroom Head I will definitely post pics of this grow. Some of these plants may bud twice this year depends on the mood. Well time too pull weeds then till the ground set the bricks to mount the greenhouses flush with the ground. Then I will map out paths to have full access to all plants growing. There will be a fencecover of Fennel and Dill known to attract ladybugs on both side of the yard. Hoping will help me retain more this year without using honey on the wings.

Well I will be setting the bricks today. So hopefully within a couple of weeks the Greenhouses will be up. Will taking pictures of the seedlings they have the first set of true leaves on them now started Christmas. Will transplant the seedlings in about a week or as soon as I see roots through the bottom of container. So far they are looking great the next set of seeds should be coming out the dirt in a couple of days. dirrtyd

fnot from experience just from looking around here like at humboldtlocal s thread it seems that the biggest plants come from raised beds on top of big ass holes

MM this is just a test all the plants last year grew over a pound in the ground. Really looking for the difference in a greenhouse grow. Also want to know can I keep the pests out the greenhouse. Plus this will give my garden order when I finish the setup. dirrtyd

Okay 155 views can I please get some comments by the way the greenhouses are prefabbed also. I have to put up a frame today to set the bricks so I should have pics later. Last frost here is the end of the month. Will also be doing a winter grow again this year meaning I will be putting plants out until the third week of March for flower under the sun. dirrtyd

Hops, are you talking about a big open hole above a raised bed or a raised bed above loose dirt? A little confused, but that sounds like a good idea, I was going to do the raised bed idea this year and possibly a green house for a separate experiment kinda like you got going on dirrtyd.

I'm also interested in finding out the most effective method for yield, potency, basically overall best grow I can accomplish, so this should be interesting.

How big is your greenhouse going to be with how many plants?

Padawan, I mean digging a 3x3x3 or bigger hole, backfilling with your favorite mix then a 12" high raised bed around that hole for a 3x3x4' deep planting area. I'm gonna do that for my big girls, just the hole for the moderate sized plants.

Pad, Yes this is a experiment for me I have grown in the ground without cover now I will see the difference. I yeilded a Lb per plant dry last year so I Should be able to get more this year. The Greenhouses will be 7'H by 6'W by 8'L . I will only put two plants per looking for 6lb per greenhouse. Will still be running three raised beds and a couple what I'm going to call late june plants in the ground these should yield dry a qp or more. Oh the frame is almost done will take pics of the frame tomorrow after baseball signups. Dirrtyd

What are your thoughts on soil mixes for this year? Going same old or possibly a little comp bewtween a few types. Maybe at the end of this thing maximize a soil for use in each situation i.e. GH, raised bed, large hole.
Either way ill be checking back, Good to see youre gettin the early start.

Actually I will be adding a few thing to the main mix in each situation. I will be adding gypsum to see what it gives to the mix. I will also be adding alfalfa and oyster shells to the mix. Here is the successful mix from last year. 1.5 cu ft of patio plus
1/2 cup blood meal

1/2 cup bone meal
2 cups diatomaceous earth
1 cup greensand
2 cups dolomite
2ltrs sand
2ltrs perlite
1 cup bulb food 3-8-8 with Mycorrhizae and humic acids
10lbs worm castings
¼ cup of soluble kelp
½ cup Jamaican guano
½ cup Mexican guano
