Greenhouse odor control idea

So i am hoping to build a greenhouse in the coming months and my goal will be to keep it odor-free. It will be a solid greenhouse, not a hoop house or similiar.

My idea comes from how commercial compost facilities will use finished compost /mulch to cover the static piles, creating a bio-cover that helps to stop odor. Another facility I was reading about used this bio-cover idea differently where they took air from their enclosed composting facility and routed it to a large pile of bio-cover to remove the smell. The bio-cover was sitting on a perforated concrete pad and the air was sent under the pad and up the holes into the bio-cover.

So, I was wondering if anyone knew the answer to this question. Can I route air from my greenhouse that is growing cannabis, to an outside pile of bio-cover? I was thinking a 5x5x5 pile with the air coming to it through perforated piping that is situated beneath it.

Think this would clean the smell? The bio-cover used in the commercial compost setting isn't changed out very regularly and I was thinking this pile might work for 8-12 months at least before needing to be changed, if this idea would even work, since I do not know. I read a research paper that studied the odor neutralization of odor causing gases, and in the study they used finish compost and found that it did diminish the smell greatly, but not completely if you were very close to the pile. Terps aren't the result of a smelly gas, so idk.

Any input appreciated!

Greenhouses have to flow a ton of air. How do you plan to capture all the air and pipe it to the compost? You will need a huge pipe.

You are better off with strains that dont stink as bad IMO. Or grow inside and use a carbon filter.

Greenhouses get hot as hell in summer too and need to be opened up to keep cool.

I plan on building it sub ground to help with the temps and it would be the same as if I was running a carbon filter in the greenhouse, but cheaper over time. And yes, I'm thinking a big pipe, not just a standard 6in like for a tent. Greenhouses can have exhaust fans, this would be that just moving the air instead of sending it just straight outside.

In the end though, it's the idea of the bio- filtering that I'm curious about rather than the greenhouse itself.

Ok well I am trying to save you from going through all the trouble of building some elaborate odor control system only to find out it doesnt flow enough air. You will want 1-2 X the volume of your greenhouse to be exhausted every minute.

Good luck!

Why does it require the exchange every minute instead of say 15 minutes? In a situation where the plants are 4-5" below ground level and 11-13" from the ceiling, temperatures at plant level should remain pretty constant without needing an air exchange per minute. I feel like exchanging air every minute is major overkill, a 5x5 grow tent doesn't even require that much exchange. The bigger the space, the less exchange per minute is needed to maintain. More cfm, but less exchange per min.

Because its going to get blasted by the sun and thats what kind of exchange rate you will need. Also your ambie t temps outside will dictate what temp air you pull it. If its 90 outside the GH is going to be cooking.

you didnt say what size GH you are getting. But I have 44 x 16 x 8 GH and it takes a 1 minute exchange and during summer also needs a 1000psi mist system and shade cloths. I grow nursery stock for a living.

Heres a link so you can take it from the greenhouse supply not me.

My advice would be get your GH and do a run with some tomatoes and figure out your climate controls before trying to do your pot and odor control job.
