i think you are correct but at room temp i think it takes atleast 1 year to get it close to fully decarbed, and 1 year old weed will begin to degrade at room temperature and that coupled with the fact that you may not have exactly 1 year old weed to get the full % decarb for 100% strengtht, i would still put it in the oven as long as you keep it under 240 Deg F, no active ingidiants will be vaporized
cannabinoids will begin vaporizing at 240 deg f to 400 deg f
THC beging one of the last to vaporize starting at around 360 Deg f
decarbing at these low temps 230 deg f, will take about 45 - 60 min to compleatly decarb your weed to give you the most punch for your reefer punch
killing off the other active ingredients actually gives you a pretty nice, changed high though and the alcohol will absorb more THC then the other active ingredients giving it a nice strong kick and a different feeling high
when i first started makin green dragon i baked it at 300 degrees (killing off active ingredients) for 5-10 mins to decarb it and it turned out great
but then your losing other active ingredients that change your high (stoned vs high feeling)
i havent exactly figured out a good time for decarbing at lower temps for the method that doesnt kill active ingredients, but 45-60 mins seems like a safe bet to make sure its completely decarbed at 230 degrees, ill try that next time
also taking account that my origional recipe was for when its decarbed at 300 degrees so my numbers (1 fl oz of 80% alcohol per half a gram of bud) should be changed to take into account the other active ingredients being dissolved into the alcohol so im gunna try doubling the amount of alcohol i use next time also to assure im not losing any thc
