Im gonna try some cO2 ASAP. Not sure what but need to get it together.....
Long term the Co2 generators are cheaper than buying a bottle and regulator. To start I got a 20lb Co2 bottle that I swap out a . I bought a regulator and a Cap Co. ART DNE timer. Depending on the size room you have you will go through a bottle 2x a year or 50+ x a year. It's that big of a range.

Yea I was thinking building a c02 generator wouldn't be to tricky. My space isn't excatly practical for a natural gas generator, Will probably buy a tank once I find a good deal. I am thinking Im gonna try my hand at the vinegar and baking soda method first with 1 gph drippers.

Planning on dripping vinegar into a bed of baking soda. So it reacts instantly. No soggy baking soda, nothing like that. It will simply hit the baking soda, and then turn into c02. Probably have the dripline set on a pump, so it is on for 15 minutes and off for 15 minutes.

Folks,

I have tried the DIY route for C02 and it was a pain in the ass, I went with yeast / sugar method in a 2 liter bottle / shaking every hour or so

It worked but a lot of shaking going on, that's when I opted for the bottle / regulator setup, things have been great ever since

That's my 2 bits on that

i have always wondered why people don't do this. all i ever hear is sugar + yeast. it works but is it worth the trouble?

i bought baking soda and vinegar a while ago and thought of doing exactly what you suggested. i also thought of using my ph down solution for this. i figure it's more concentrated than vinegar so more CO2 for every drop in same amount of carbon dioxide.

let me know if it works well with a timer. you're gonna need a shitload of vinegar lol

A 20lb bottle is 15-20 bucks and is low maintenance.

15-20 for a bottle. wat about everything else u need? also i only have a 2x4x7 tent so i think a bottle would last forever with me
It depends like everything...how far do you want to go and how accurate do you want to be. My timer was $80 and the regulator was a $100. You don't necessarily need my timer. I like mine cause it has a light sensor. It starts dispersing Co2 once my lights come on. then every 60min it comes on for 15min. It does not run with the lights out.

My buddy uses a $20 digital timer from home depot to do the same thing.

It's a couple hundred for a decent Co2 set up using a bottle. A generator is about $500 and you will be totally dialed. For a small grow I don't think a generator is necessary.

Chris,

A bottle will last you a loong time. I am using a small space maybe smaller than your and I have a 10 lb bottle just a little guy and the fellow at the store where I picked it up said it should last a year so I think you would be good for a while

Like Dub said the 1st setup cost is big I spent $450 for the bottle / regulator, lines, and air rocks to disperse the C02

Take a look on craigs list and ebay for regulator and bottles on craigs list

It will pay it self off in a couple grows

Pretty much 30 days in...two of which are flower.

A few shots with the lights off. Not the greatest pics but I hate how the photos are with the lights on. This flash is too much.

Things are coming together.

Fuzzy nug shot

Leaves look much better. All the funny curling is gone and the color is almost perfect. One week after flushing and switching nutes.

Beefy stalks.

Man lol your set up is fucking pro. What is the make of that ac? I have been looking for one with a direct outlet for ducting and I have had no such finding them.

Dual Duct is what you need for sure. Many do not draw in fresh air. It's not mandatory for a sealed room with Co2 but it's a nice option.

It's a Soleuea...weighs a ton. At first I didn't think it was good unit. She's pretty tired but does really well. I don't know where you live but a guy in the Orange County, Ca Craigslist has new units that are bigger BTU dual duct set ups for $350. In the summer they're almost $600.

Lookin excellent DubsFan. Keep up the good work man. You are gonna have garbage bag sized sack of buds in no time.:eyesmoke: Yeah.

If I were you I would definitely invest in a Co2 test kit man. They are only like 15 or 20 bucks for two tests and the plunger then you can just buy individual testers fo 5 bucks and use the plunger you got from the $15 test kit. Check them out and you will know what Im talkin bout. Anyway I did the math on my room and pretty much got it right except that my room retained it longer than I thought and it was running higher and higher by the hour so I had to lengthen the duration on my timer.

My Green Crack started producing trichromes the other day and man it is sticky as hell. Like tree sap.

Like I said man lookin awesome, keep it up. Get that flash shit figured out, we wanna see some sugar on those babys. haha. Try covering the flash with your finger a little.
